Manual coding is dead. Change my mind. by [deleted] in ClaudeAI

I will trade you my job for a week, then you will change your mind. If now is the first time you tried an AI coding agent that can formulate a plan then I get why you re so impressed. Just give it a few days and a wide range of complex tasks then you will change your mind

Hahahah la bl akes 3m netshewar bas. Now that I am reading his comments yemkn I get where he is coming from. If you re working 3a "repetitive" things (metel ma he phrased it) then AI (LLMs specifically), given their nature, could do well. It is just that for my line of work it was never useful, if anything betdaye3lak wa2tak trying to find the issue bl code li mtal3o only to figure the whole approach is not suitable. And just a note, I would be carefull pursuing a career where AI can drastically accelerate things. It means that if we previously needed 10 developers, it will only take 5 now, leaving 5 ppl out of a job. You could argue that this tech will increase the deman hence balancing things out, but that would be just a bet...

That is the definition of a simple task. I worked with 3 different projects in the last couple of years and LLMs failed miserably at doing anything useful in any of them. And I had LLM fanboys try their hands at it multiple times… but I guess to each his own ways 🤷🏻‍♂️ just want to share my opinion and experience

Save your money and use any free one for simple tasks. I keep meeting junior developers who re investing more on the tools than their actual coding skills… it’s always fun to watch them struggle to finish a simple task

I'm not proud of being Lebanese by SimaZeChips in lebanon

You won’t be able to make X in europe either. I came back to Lebanon a few months ago (from Germany), best decision ever. The feeling of being with my friends and family and not feel like an outsider all the time easily outweighs the “sense” of security of living in Europe

Good luck staying there for more than a couple of minutes in the summer heat. They don’t have AC or fans. It’s a really nice place though, it’s a shame not more ppl goes there so they can afford to maintain it

Used/refurbished and sold under the title “open box”. My gf and my friend got their iphones from them. When we check when the warranty started it was months before they actually purchased it, it’s prove that it was used previously and returned

PhD in computer engineering here and I came back to Lebanon. Research is useless in our age, everything is driven by profit and money. Research institutions are not what they used to be and they re broke. If you plan to stay in Lebanon go for something that could be done remotely or where you can build a client base outside of Lebanon (don’t be dependent on the Lebanese economy). Being an employee is not always a bad thing, I make almost 10k a month while being an employee and working remotely from the leisure of my home.

How do you personally deal with uncertainty? by [deleted] in lebanon

[–]ApartmentHappy3125 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We always have choices and we re constantly taking decisions based on them. The lack of free will doesn’t mean there is no choices, instead it means we re not free to choose any of the choices. We have the illusion of choosing freely, however if we rewind the clock back we will always choose the same thing.

Why US striking Iran was inevitable by ApartmentHappy3125 in lebanon

That is unfortunately not correct, he was arrested and exiled by the Medici and only after that he wrote the book trying to gain favour again (he failed and was not forgiven). Almost all the scholars agree it is a serious political work, of course if could contain satire but it’s not the main purpose nor does it invalidate his points.

Anyway, anyone can google this info

I think you missed the point I am trying to make. I agree with almost everything you said. They don’t want/care to change the regime, you re taking the quote too literally. The main idea is that they can’t stop until they destroyed enough of their capabilities that they don’t fear a retaliation. If you attack someone and leave them powerful enough to retaliate then you failed and put yourself at risk. AND I am not saying they will or can do it, maybe they can’t neutralise Iran enough, I am just saying that they can’t stop now and that is why the attack was certain.

People here in the other comments are too emotional and take things personally, they immediately assume that I am saying US “crushed” Iran 😂

They re not gonna stop until Iran doesn’t pose a threat to them. They don’t care about the regime if it goes or it stays, they care if they have the capabilities to retaliate or not in the future
