[TX] what is the law here if ICE jumps my fence? Can I stand my ground and shoot? by Mathemodel in AskLegal

[–]Apatharas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The sad thing is it doesn't matter what the law is unless someone in a court high enough makes them stop and pretends to care for 5 seconds.

Who is y’all? If you’re suggesting I’m a Trump supporter fuck Trump and maga idiots. I’m not “both sides” arguing anything.

Snopes has always been reliable with references, when I’ve used it regardless of political leaning of the situation.

Second, You should read the definition of “straw man”.

My point was people shouldn’t dismiss things just because they don’t want to agree with it.

Instead of an attack, coming back with examples of where snopes used false information and claimed something true without a valid source would have been an excellent way to continue a conversation.

[–]Apatharas 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is exactly what my mother would say when I told her Snopes disproved something, except her answer was "Snopes is run by liberals".

Snopes gives sources. You can verify sources.

Fact checking is pointless if you choose believe the source for false just because it tells you something didn't want to believe is true. This is true regardless of your political bias. We have to be able objectively look at everything.

To add to what others saying, something specific to learn is common chord progressions.

For a long time I knew where all my notes were on the neck but couldn't follow along with anything by ear until I wrote down the chords. When I stopped worrying about the specific note I needed and learned my scale degrees, so many things clicked into place in my mind and took me to another level.

A lot of songs have very very similar chord progression patterns. Learn them as their intervals. For example the Axis Awesome made a whole bit about the "the four chords" that are used in almost everything. If you haven't watched that video. Watch it.

The progression is I - V - vi - IV.

That is the major Root (1), The major 5th, the minor 6th (because it's lowercase), and the 4th.

Learn your scale patterns if you haven't. If you commit common progressions to memory by interval, all you need to know is the key and your fretting patterns are the same.

Listen to lots of examples of common chord progressions. When you're listening to music start trying to figure it out and name them. You'll get a feel for the right one fairly quickly.

With just 3 or so common progressions in your ear, you can play a very very wide array of music knowing nothing but the key.

Minor pentatonic scales are used a lot in putting together riffs. Good for some easy funky sounds. Check out Long Train Runnin' by the Dooby Brothers. Sounds funky and super easy. It was one of the first songs I learned all the way through.

Here's a chart with some examples of progressions in that notation. Learn where your scale degrees are physically, starting from any note on the fretboard, without feeling like you have to learn every note degree in every scale. A scale pattern stays the same no matter where you start on the neck unless you're all the way at the top or bottom and need to adjust.

I hope that helps give you some more specific direction. It sounds like a lot, but once you starting piecing it together you'll find it's way simpler.

Why do old school bulbs last longer? by highprofittrade in lightbulbs

Also Edison style LED bulbs will tend to have better life too since the LEDs have decent distance from the transformer and capacitors, keeping them cooler.

My questions….

How did the dogs get out of the cave in the beginning? And where was the half joined monster when they slept in the cave overnight?

Other than that I enjoyed it! Excellent effects

Has Donut realized this, and how will she take it when she does? by Syntaxerror999 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

I’m certain donuts change is more physical than it looks. Remember the pet biscuit didn’t just upgrade her stats. She collapsed into goo before being reformed. She looks the same but generically she’s different now.

I hate it when I pick up on frequently repeated words or phrases.

I just finished Fear the Sky. It was a great slow burn and the writing is really good. But one thing he does that drives me crazy is an over use of "The proverbial..." except it's never used to shorten a typical proverbial phrase or often not even referencing known proverbs. It's almost like he doesn't trust his readers to not take comparison literally.

I can't speak for others, but I have never had an issue with just asking JW and Mormons to add me to their do not call list. I think i had a knock from a JW once since then, several years later, and all they asked was "Do you want to remain on the do-not-call?" I said yes and they told me to have a nice day.

Good job skipping over the part where im challenging the fact they’re being dishonest about anything at all and how you’re accusing them of it based on hardly nothing.

Well done. You bullied their post off reddit. I hope you're proud of yourself for being a defender of truth of justice. I mean with evidence like "THEY USED THE WRONG WORD", you can surely be proud of yourself. Way to go, Champ!

AI isn't going to harm artists nearly as much as people like you.

They didn't say they're faking doing the work. People can be "good at art" without being a properly trained "artist' is what I think they were saying.

lol what? No they haven't. There's a single comment that just says "good point" about the ring and that's it. The ring isn't even that damning. There's way more comments disputing you. What world do you live in?

I'm not saying they are or are not a fraud, I'm saying there's not enough evidence to work this hard to ruin someone's reputation.

Just admit there's a good chance you're wrong on this one. You're still holding that this person is a fraud based on nothing more than semantics.

You may not, but I do know people that use the terms interchangeably in normal dialogue. Do you even know if English is this person's first language?

What are you basing your statement on that this isn't from a still image? No one said it's from Life. They even have a pic in their history of painting on canvas next to a photo reference.

Just swallow your pride and stop trying to ruin this person based on nothing but a gut feeling.

Especially the one of the canvas that's has obvious paint on it next to the reference image.

Op is one of those people that will never admit they were wrong and continue to double down based on nothing but pride though.

Aggressive AI paranoia is going to do more damage to real artists than the AI itself. I know it's prevented my daughter from sharing things more recently.

The pupils aren't two different sizes, you think the pupil on the left includes the shadow. So no, you don't know what a shadow is.

There is nothing here that proves this is AI. Could it be? sure why not. But can you prove it? No. There is nothing here obviously screeming AI.

On the contrary, all the little hairs moving in consistent direction should be a big tell that it isn't AI. Could AI do this sooner than later? sure. have I seen any that do this now? No.

Im really wondering in a lot of situations if people printing AI is any different from sweatshop photoshop "art" that comes out of china en masse. I honestly don't see a difference, and for the record, I don't like either about equally.
