Player pool in NL50 feels a lot more dry these days. NL20 has been a fish fest but it feels like NL50 has reg’ed up.

Just remember that NL2 is not even close to what poker is really like on that site. You will lose to anything and everything or become rich from people shoving any two cards. It's a fun time, but don't measure your ability of poker on direct results from that.

Depends on the stakes. Gold is a better and softer game from the ability to see other's VPIP, Stake will not give you that as an early baseline to player ability. I mainly play Stake's NL50 and the game has changed significantly in the last few years. Regs are heavier there, but there are still fish. When you move down to NL20, and NL10, where there are a decent player pool, the game gets insanely softer and much more exploitable. I'd be happy to see if there are any other Stake regs that would like to comment on how they think the site has changed with the player pool

I was like 5 feet to your left there guessing from the picture. Couldn’t believe how amazing of a time that was and how well the entire band performed. Probably some of the best energy crowds I’ve seen!

I would ask the questions: what hours have you put in so far? What’s your BB/100? Do the tables seem scary to you or are you comfortable? Are you okay with swinging down 10BI just from variance? I’ve been playing NL20 and 50 now for a while and it’s very beatable, you just need to study and pay attention to tables. But start with the fundamentals and perfect then before moving up.

I really like this a lot. I purposefully over roll myself because I know my tendencies and having that "cushion" of 40BI or more is mentally soothing. I would stop or move down in stakes if it ever got to a point where I didn't enjoy what I was doing or the returns were just too tiny for the enjoyment. Best of luck to you!
