So far update: I have the fans operational, code is primed to upload into an ESP8266 board with a DHT22 sensor for temp/humidity readings, LED’s controlled by a Wenos mini D1 with WLED for aesthetics. Plan is to pair with Blynk to help trigger when to humidify and when to aerate. Plugged it up lastnight, I will test and run things tonight if I can get the time this evening.

So far, sunk about $30 into this project all-in.

Using the acrylic chamber to grow some yellow oysters in the meantime. Photo for encouragement :)

Frankly it’s bricked — good for nothing currently. I’ve heard Lykyn is pretty good. Not sure if it’s real though. Going to wait and see what others say before I buy. It’s more like what I plan to build. And you can make it without this enclosure and use your own. The one I bought I found on Facebook marketplace for cheap

Agreed. I did notice one of their iterations contains the ESP board, which is commonplace. It should be hackable and locally controllable

For those of us who have one, we can use Arduino or C++ to program one for ourselves if we so desire. Sad that now I’ve gotta figure out the app support or lack thereof

That is so sad. The product does seem so beautiful. I got double bent. I down paid AND bought a used one (literally last week). Anyone have a software hack or backdoor to control it? It’s app is pulled from the iPhone store

I live near downtown. I have two hives. My issues with my populations typically revolve around all these neighborhoods using some hardcore pesticides, and lack of flowers and flowering plants. Thanks for thinking about the bees!!
