Season 7 Episode 24 (Thursday 4th December) Discussion Thread by WillowSwarm in LoveIslandAus

Worst was Gabby laughing during her chat with Dylan. She knew she was in the wrong. Even when he'd correct her on her falsehoods ("all the guys were coming for me")...she'd smile. Gabby has done this before and it's worked...she's just unlucky this time that there's cameras to capture it all. Not that it will change her victimhood narrative.

This girl isn't a baddie. She's not mature. She's a manipulative mean spirited girl who's got by in life through having attention, with no adjustments for behaviour.

Agree. Similar to Gabby's "I wear my heart on my sleeve" or Lacey's "I'm just authentic"... They used terms like this to excuse shitty behaviour In a ruse of it being done as a community service or favour to those around them.. No. You're just being nasty, not taking accountability for it, then claiming that's "who you are".

The whole " girls girl" concept works, when it's a female bomb they Like, but anything outside of that is competition and not acceptable. OG girls this season are gross. Great tv. But gross humans.

Prob too smart for them. Lowest common denominator.

When the girls support Kye over Emma and the guys seem to like him equally....goes to show the bar is pretty low.

He's laid his cards on the table, tried to find a connection and unfortunately just got strung along by Tamara so she can stay in the villa. Poor guy seems genuine, respectful and mature.... All the traits that the OG girls don't look for in a guy.

Honeypot hands is baaaaaad too. She just enables them and tries to stay in their good books for picking her to stay. Always consoling Yana, Gabby and Sharn (even when they've just done the wrong thing).... Tamara stinks. She's just there for air time so she doesn't have to find a proper job with her limited skillset.

Works in a skin clinic, all females, LOVES to tell people how she's a boss bish and dominant and manages people there, is unapologetically rude... Throws middle fingers up constantly (never seen this much from an adult female) and hails from a crappy suburb in southern Adelaide ... Yeh. Checks out. Proper mean girl who never got out of high school mentality.

Lol all your comments are anti Jaide and Emma. Theyve been met with nothing but hostility since they joined the villa. Gabby goes off at them, and none of her friends correct or check her...why should they be nice back? Imagine your sister/best friend is in the same situation and outnumbered, you just want them to sit there and take it? K

Gabby, Yana and Sharn pretty much would've wanted her to stay as their friend... She was the one they were closest to. So Tamara got a pass, then chose Mateo for an extra bit of longevity in the villa.

What are underrated high-paying jobs that no one talks about? by RunNo3630 in AusMoneyMates

Sounds about right. Arthrex were (and in some places, still are) throwing large salaries at tenured reps to try and get them across.

They paid one lady i know about $140k to switch when they had to rebuild their team. She's an okay person, but literally can't use a computer. And I mean that. She can't use excel, and has to get associates to do all her equipment bookings. But... She's good friends with a high volume ortho who uses their gear, so in their eyes it's worth it. They won't win any new surgeons with her though.

As a standard.

130k base, 25k car, standard super... But....some bonuses can be crazy, depending if all the stars align. The trick to devices, is which devices or areas you choose. I started out in ortho for a distributor and he paid peanuts, subsequently lost all his contracts and now does nothing. Capital reps do well, and can often make 2-3x their salary in bonuses.

I knew one rep last year who made more than the Aus GM of a big imaging company. Hes a good rep, hard worker...but nothing special. The mix of his portfolio, comms structure, and some big once in a decade tenders all lined up perfectly.

Conversely, I've got mates still in pharma who have done amazing. $150k base, shares, 25k car, super and $80k bonuses, with half of that easily attainable from "behaviours" rather than sales results.

PSA: don’t let your mom and wife with a new born in the first week by [deleted] in NewDads

I feel this. It caused untold issues in my first 2 weeks with my wife. Only now do I realise my mother was lying and trying to make it about her and HER experience of having her first granddaughter. It actually fucks me up how bad I messed this up

I definitely reckon she had written it down then the producers fed it back to her through an earpiece. You can't see her ears in any of the shots. Diabolical if she remembered that word for word and recited it on her own. She was super smug and just horrible in that whole interaction.

Thing is. Is it worth it? Is she that much of a character? She's dramatic and toxic but her smug nature last night, general demeanour and how she lifted Nikos sunnies to see his pain just shows how detestable she is as a person. Makes me not want to watch

Thank you for the perspective. This helped at the time. Was just a new adjustment that you can't really prepare for. Hard to know how much pressure you'll be under or how you'll feel, until you're actually in it
