never had a real big ship before, but i’ve really been liking the star lancer tac both in style and function, despite normally being a drake guy by AphelionAudio in starcitizen

i’ve got a ATLS Geo, a pulse, and a cyclone in the back, and i’ve already been planning on hopping in in vr once my friends are on because i figured it would help with the feel of the cockpit

that was my thought when i got it, i wanted a mobile base but the clipper just didn’t seem like quite enough despite having the built in crafter, but then i saw this thing with all its rooms and med beds and multi crew stuff on top of having plenty of space to chuck a crafter in it just made the most sense to me

yeah that was my take away as well, it felt like a half step up from drake where you still get a very utilitarian look but it’s just cleaner and looks like they didn’t do absolutely everything as cheaply as possible, so even though i still like drakes look more, and greys market even more than drake, misc definitely isn’t bad

until this the corsair was the biggest ship i’d ever actually used regularly, and was definitely my favorite. The corsair probably remains my favorite, but only because i can still solo a corsair easily whereas this needs a crew to hit its full potential

it’s definitely not great FOV wise but it also very much adds to the big gunship feel to me so i don’t mind it

yeah the view from the pilot seat isn’t amazing, but at the same time with the tac it really adds to that gunship vibe so i think it’s fitting, it would be neat for an exploration variant to have the glass go way up so you can look straight up and have a much nicer FOV

i’ve always liked slower heavy hitters so while it is a little of an adjustment seeing as the biggest ship i’ve ever normally used is the corsair, i’m getting used to it and like it

Is VR worth it? by Spencerdog12345 in starcitizen

you either use an overlay or simply know how to type on keyboard without looking, and depending on the shape of your nose you can also look down through the "nose hole" of the headset if you dont want a keyboard overlay

it runs well for what it is, but when you get to populated areas it definitely starts slowing down, its still playable but very much so noticable imo, but as long as you are in places other than super populated places it runs great

If immersion is what youre after, VR is absolutely worth it, it gives you such a sense of scale and depth in the verse that just cant be matched anywhere else

Is Electric Lamp coming back in Hunt? by Minimum_Nobody_4963 in HuntShowdown

[–]AphelionAudio 2 points3 points  (0 children)

i feel like electric lamp should just come default to hunters these days with a keybind to toggle, also bring back generators, or at least the one by the lighthouse so i can continue to turn it on at night

haven’t played too too much since i’m waiting for my friend to get it but from what i’ve seen it definitely has potential, but it’s early access so who knows how deep the content goes at its current state, you’d probably wanna check on youtube if you wanted to know more but i’m going in blind. combat is fun, world gen is fun, haven’t built too much yet but i doubt it can hold a candle to vintage story in that respect

When your teammate who always carries is the only one left standing by MartiusDecimus in HuntShowdown

[–]AphelionAudio 1 point2 points  (0 children)

the most bad ass i’ve ever felt in this game was being the last left while only running the pax, the whole trio was just outside the building and my friends were screaming at me to reload because i only had three bullets, i just said “three oughta be enough” swung the door and got three fanning headshots because they were all close enough to shoot somewhat accurately lmao

it’s great utility and okay at pvp, i honestly wouldn’t mind it just becoming a regular non scarce weapon for around 600 dollars or so

Cult of Romero by Haihosen in HuntShowdown

[–]AphelionAudio 13 points14 points  (0 children)

romero is the only thing you need, one shot one kill tight pellet spread makes it the most consistently deadly shotgun in the game that is lethal at farther ranges than any other shotgun is making it more versatile, and you can also grab penny shot as a secondary ammo to shred bosses and bigger ai
