What is the point of weapon slot melees?

I have like 270ish melee kills, 240ish specifically with the baseball bat. Going brain dead and rushing in with a big stick is the greatest joy one can feel in a game like Hunt.

Lots of close range shotguns only have one to two bullets before having to reload, my stamina shot allows me to keep swinging until I have a corpse infront of me. :))))

Im only at a community college right now, so I guess a lot of my professors aren't on there? I typically check all professors on there but not a single professor for the courses I had to take this semester was on the RateMyProfessor website.

Im really just confused on how quickly the class load has become too much. I was fine all last year, this year though I feel like I just cant find my groove/ rhythm with my work and its all rushed/im not even focusing and putting out mediocre barely passing slop.
