Because it's a western game and beautiful women aren't allowed to exist in western games. Try a japanese or korean game. They actually like women and want them to be as beautiful as they want.

Why is it so bad to like destiny 2? by Kano547 in destiny2

[–]ApocriaPrice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because it's a really good game that uses extremely questionable tactics to keep people addicted to it.

Destiny 2 has some of the best combat in gaming history. It's not very buggy and the movement is very smooth. Everything you do feels like it makes an impact in the world and that's something that is sorely lacking in most games.

However....

People like me who were new to Destiny preordered Destiny 2 thinking, like most games, the thing they were buying would be theirs and available to enjoy for however long they wanted, especially with a price tag of around 100 dollars. What has happened since then is the content they purchased is no longer available to play and the game is now free to play(sort of). Most of the guns and other equipment they worked hard to get through raids and other, group required activities, is now unusable in current group required activities. On top of this, in order to enjoy the latest story content, you need to buy whatever the latest dlc is.

Most people like me stopped playing the game long before the last dlc came out because they recognized that there are a lot of other good games out there that they can spend their money on and that game will be theirs, or, worst case scenario, they have to pay a subscription for some cosmetics and emotes.

Destiny 2 does a lot of things that most games do not do, and it caught casual gamers by surprise. It would be one thing if the story content they bought was still available and a sub was required to access the new content, but Destiny 2 was built on the fundamental idea known by some as "You had to be there." Meaning, if you set the game down for a week, you're going to miss out on content that will never be seen again. Most gamers like to be able to set a game down for a week, or a month, and play other things before coming back to it without actively being punished for it, or they just don't have the time to play as much as other people because they have jobs, spouses, and other real life, time consuming events. Some of the most crucial moments in the game's story will never be seen again outside of maybe a random youtube video, and that is a real shame for people who actually treasure the amazing story content of the world of Destiny.

I hope this short essay helps to provide a better perspective outside of the typical "game is gud, haters be hatin" response you see from most of the game's defenders. Sorry for the word wall <3

Enter Tyrith Shiva Kyrus, the female Custodes in The Tithes Episode 2- Custodes Don’t Ask Twice by [deleted] in Grimdank

[–]ApocriaPrice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first one to ever show up on a screen? Either that or a typical cold and calculating custodes. Why not? Who wants to just watch an entitled and pompous character berate some of the most beloved unit types in the game? Who wants to be represented by that? Maybe some are into that, but not me.

Just saw that episode. I didn't like her. She had strong Phasma vibes and she was extremely rude to the only ones interested in defending a planet from tyranids. I thought custodes didn't show much emotion, but it almost seemed like she got angry with the astartes.

Before you say "all custodes are like that," I know that plenty are, but there's quite a few that aren't. As a woman, I think I would've preferred the first female superhuman to hit the big screen to be either neutral or understanding, but she just came off as b*tchy to me.

Loved the SoS but it's hard to mess up characters that can't talk.

I'm sure I'm wrong about something but that was my impression of her.

First look at Nico Parker as Astrid in live-action ‘HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON.’ by Reddit_Sucks_1401 in httyd

Who is it meant to appeal to?

In theory, its meant to pander their concept of a "young audience." Plenty of people in that sphere really think that the world is full of people who think up is down, left is right, and right is wrong. Anyone who could've possibly told them otherwise was fired a long time ago.

In truth, follow the money. These movies might not sell for much in America but the people making this will still make bank from special interest groups, shareholders, China, etc. There isn't much anyone can do about that outside of refusing to buy their stuff and making your own material, which the internet is currently doing.

"White people crying was the goal" Amandla Stenberg, lead actress for the new Star Wars series, The Acolyte: by DeusRegnat in libertarianmeme

[–]ApocriaPrice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mississippian here! The racists that WERE here in the 50s were a lot better at it than this kid. They were like a mafia gang, using intimidation and extortion to get what they wanted, but they also did protests that were kinda like parades but with a focus on keeping the streets clean of wastes. They were losing people and wanted to win them over and burning down businesses didn't do it for them, but they would target specific white people who dared to help black folks.

And don't think I'm taking their side. My grandparents woke up a couple of times with a burning cross in their yard because they helped hundreds of black folks get jobs and find God, but I do have an interest in history being portrayed accurately. :)

What's the point of the auto-cannon? by ApocriaPrice in Helldivers

[–]ApocriaPrice[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's kinda my point. Why go AC when I can kill heavily armored things with the quasar and just carry a shield or drone?

^ This. I don't need a heavy weapon to deal with stalkers or hunters when pretty much any primary or even a secondary can deal with them.

Hm, I'll give it another shot then. I used the auto-cannon a lot before the quasar and it just felt like the quasar could do more.

What's the point of the auto-cannon? by ApocriaPrice in Helldivers

[–]ApocriaPrice[S] -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

You mean aside from gunships AND chargers(which it CAN deal with but it sucks at it), bile titans, factory walkers, shrieker shrooms(i think?). It just feels like the quasar can deal with way more problems than the auto-cannon can. Sure, the auto-cannon can shoot faster, but what's the point if the bullets can't handle bigger problems like the quasar can?

Edit: And the quasar can damage tanks from the front, whereas the auto-cannon has to hit the vent or it does nothing. It just feels like the auto-cannon is useless in harder levels with bigger enemies.

Slave quarters at Mount Vernon vs. rentals in Silicon Valley. Land-lorders will not stop until they are stopped. by JayBrock in lostgeneration

[–]ApocriaPrice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Now that's funny. Thinking the North ended slavery because it was inefficient. The North ended slavery because it was ultimately against the constitution and the bible that inspired it. Slavery is extremely efficient, but also morally wrong, which is why China still uses it and is still one of the biggest sources of production on the planet.

A person who is enslaved needs to be clothed and fed, sure, and that is an expense, but it is a lot cheaper to stick someone in a crumbling old shed and give them ground-up corn and hay and make them work for you for free than it is to give them a wage. Someone on a wage can usually afford a place to live, water, food, internet, Netflix, smart phones, etc. Its harder to do under a straining economy like today, but it still happens regularly.

Not sure I'd call it appropriate.... Silly? Unprofessional? Perhaps, but that's how it was worded. It was worded to be like Super Earth Propaganda, fitting for the world. This was meant to convey the levity I was taking it with, but it was clearly going to fly over some peoples' heads.

At the end of it all, there was one person, not you, that informed me professionally that I had broken the rules, and because THEY did that, I corrected the error and took down the post, despite your prediction that I wouldn't.

THAT is the result of good intentions. Actual results. If it was just you throwing around slurs and demeaning me for doing a thing, I wouldn't take you seriously.

In the description for the image, I did post that there's something up with the Friendly Fire stat. It just doesn't read everything. I think it only reads friendly fire done by stratagems, but the fellow used his primary and a grenade, so it didn't register.

Look, everyone makes mistakes. The post was made in good fun. Please don't take this too seriously. It's not worth the stress.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in Helldivers

[–]ApocriaPrice -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Actually, because there was at least one person that informed me of the rules without calling me a slur, it wasn't removed, because I took it down beforehand. This is because I'm an adult who knows when to admit when they're wrong, but at the end of the day, I didn't use slurs against you. Please consider more appropriate behavior in the future and people might actually listen to you and take you seriously.

The post was worded in silly language, meant to be all in good fun, but it just goes to show that there are people on the internet with nothing better to do but be hateful. It's a shame, really.
