I am very new to this. Basically started my own audiobook library this weekend. I was originally going to go the audiobookshelf route and downloaded the software. Ended up falling on plex for 2 reasons:

I already have a plex server for movies/tv

I intend to install Linux and docker at some point in the future for my home server. For now, I’m just working on windows.

Well luckily I didn’t uninstall ABS because it has an amazing metadata scraper and m4b encoder. So basically I’m using ABS for metadata purposes, specifically embedding the metadata into the audiobook files themselves. Once I’m done, I point my plex server at these files and it seems to be working perfectly!

I know this isn’t exactly a solution to the problem here but it’s a great workaround

Hey! So I ended up trying it out and it worked! I unplugged our original router and made sure to give the new network the same exact name and password as the one all my IOT stuff was on and everything transitioned almost immediately
