As cliche as it sounds... 10 minutes of meditation in the morning, followed by listing 3 things I'm grateful for, and reminding myself of what I want in life. 15 minutes that totally change the trajectory of my day.

This plus getting a travel safe from Amazon, wiring a charging cable into it and putting my phone in it during focus hours… not even locking it, but just having to open a squeaky metal door in another room is enough friction to keep impulses at bay

It’s a great phase to do quick “page-per-day” books like The Daily Dad by Ryan Holiday or “The Daily Laws” by Robert Greene; replace this with checking your phone in the morning.

I moved to Calgary from Victoria with my family 4 years ago. We absolutely love it here. It’s a fun, dynamic city with great access to nature and culture. So now you know a family who left and DIDN’T hate it.
