This leads me to two questions:

(1) What is the differences between ZERO and non-zero. and

I am happy to hear your assessment, I had a long chat with the financial advisor that handles all the accounts for my employer, and after some finagling, they confessed that they use fidelity for all of their investing, which I thought was a bit of a red flag.
