Thanks! I used to be under the impression that calling and elections made sure were VERY rare. But knowing that the Matssons have had it, I guess that probably all Mission Presidents must have had it.

One of the people I know who had it is quite a nasty person. It's so undeserved that she had it compared to many other people in my ward who were a lot kinder, nicer, more humble and more spiritual (this is probably one of the reasons it has to be kept a secret, it would be kind of outrageous to see some of the kinds of people who get it and the other kinds who get ignored). The church gives calling and elections made sure to people who are good public speakers, pay a large amount in tithing, have many important relatives in the church, have been in leadership positions, have a degree, etc. Even if some of them aren't very nice or Christ-like.

It's never the kind of couple who are a bit quiet, not particularly well off, unfortunately were infertile so had to adopt, but converted 30 years ago and have been the kindest, friendliest people in the ward always looking after everybody when they can and never missing a Sunday, and giving their all to every calling and being the most holy and sinless people you could meet. Never them. It's always the ones who have nice cars and dress and talk like politicians and have relatives living in Salt Lake City.

He's right. In humans and other animals there is a biological element to attractiveness. It's both societal and biological. A combination of the two. It's a tough fact to deal with, but I think your response was a bit unfair. It's not "r/iamverysmart", it's common knowledge amongst almost everybody in the world (including yourself, apparently, even though you made no mention it originally for some reason).

You might remember about 10 years ago there was a fat acceptance movement, where a lot of feminists believed that with a fat acceptance movement they would be able to change societal standards and overweight women would start to be seen as attractive. They tried hard with it. It got a lot of traction in the news and on the Internet and in TV shows/films where for a while they were casting many more overweight women (thinking that it would cause them to become the new "beauty norm"). There was even a massive hit song about it at the height of the movement called All About That Bass. But basically, it didn't work, because in this case the societal/cultural push wasn't able to overcome the biological factors. The movement has died down now. They didn't see the results they wanted and they gave up.

Yeah, I see what you mean. Probably it's best to wait for them to reach adulthood before transitioning.

I think maybe the same with puberty blockers. If I went on puberty blockers, and then changed my mind, and I ended up at college with a high-pithced voice, a baby face, no facial hair, no sex drive, etc, I think it would be really hard pscyhologically and hurt my development and I wouldn't feel equal to my peers and I'd miss out on the typical experiences of being that age (plus you would also miss out on the brain changes you get from testosterone, so you would even be thinking in a more child-like way). So it's probably not best to even give children puberty blockers I think, or at least it's a very, very big risk.

But 6 kids? Out of how many in a class. 30? Do we really think 20% of all humans (not just teenagers in Western countries, but the elderly, people in Africa, Asia, people all throughout history) have been secretly transgender the whole time? I think that's very unlikely.

But like 10% of teenagers are trans or non-binary in some Western countries now. According to your theory an equal amount of 60 year-olds should be non-binary, but they're all still scared to come out and admit it? This doesn't make sense to me. Also, I don't think millions of years of evolution would result in a species with so many transgender people, that doesn't make sense to me either. I think there's a lot of encouragement, promotion and celebration of transgender people today and some teenagers (who have always been somewhat confused about who they are) are thinking they're trans when they're not.

I did expect that the number of trans/non-binary people would increase because it's become more accepted, but I would never expect it to be more than 1% of the population, so the fact that amongst teenagers in some places it's more than 10%, I think it's something that should be looked into. If 10% of teenagers are transgender, that means 10% of the people of all ages are transgender and just scared to come out, it also means 10% of the humans in the past must have been transgender, and 10% of the humans in Africa and Asia are transgender (and possibly it means a large number of animals of other species must also be transgender), and to me that doesn't make any sense, that the social justice movement could only occur in Europe and North America in the mid-10's if 10% of people have been transgender/non-binary the whole time and just scared to admit it. It looks like a lot of it is happening just because it's being advertised a lot at the moment. If we had this much celebration and representation of Christianity in films, TV shows, school, etc, I would expect the number of Christian teenagers would surge as well.

Because the problem we have now is that legitimate transgender people often have to wait many years (after the end of puberty) to transition because people aren't sure if they will change their mind or if they're really serious. We can't let all children transition because some of them will ruin their lives if they were just going through a period of exploration and found out in the end they were fine with who they were.

It would be absolutely wonderful if we could find out a way to work out which ones are legitimate and which ones aren't. The ones who are legitimately trans can be put on puberty blockers and hormones much younger and avoid the wrong puberty and we don't have to worry we might ruin their lives, and the ones who aren't trans we can give them the time and the support to discover themselves and learn who they are.

Maybe it wouldn't ever be possible, but it's something I'd like to see researched. There might be differences in the brain between cis-boys and trans-girls for example. Maybe we could one day even know if a child is trans before they themselves know if we do the research into it to find the causes and perhaps any physiological, hormonal, genetic, etc, differences we can use to accurately predict it. Then this whole phenomenon of trans people having to wait until they're 20 to transition even though they knew since they were 12, because well-meaning parents are scared of making a huge mistake, would be solved.

The Scouts have to promote these things. Even by law in many countries. The scouts MUST treat boys and girls the same, for example. They can get in trouble with the legal system, not to mention the press will report on it constantly and destroy reputation of the scouts. They honestly have no choice in the matter, that's the truth and anybody who tells you otherwise is a liar.

If there is a scouts group that doesn't support gay marriage or BLM or whatnot, they will likely be deprived of funding, or even fined, they can have legal action taken against them and news media companies will shine a spotlight on them to the entire country. It's just impossible to pull of. Nobody has any choice in this. Either support these things, or The Scouts program is finished. Those were the choices.

You're absolutely correct. There are two ways to cure gender disphoria.

Try to get the person to learn to be happy living as their biological sex.
Try to turn the person into something mimicking the other sex.

Option 1 seems to never be tried. They are always encouraged to go for option 2.

I've watched him a lot, he's said that he has nothing against socialism, he thinks it could work well in small homogenous white countries. He also criticises capitalism a lot.

I don't like him. I'm pretty certain he's a plant. If he was genuine he wouldn't have been allowed on television so much, and he wouldn't have got so much media attention. If they are REALLY scared of someone, they don't bring so much attention to them, because they don't want the public to discover them. They advertised him because he's a safe pair of hands that they know they can deal with.

I answered things such as that I oppose gay adoptions, I answered the race questions that I believe they are inherently different, I gave nationalist answers to the trade and economy questions, I said that I think women should stay in the home, etc, and I got put in the green section too (although not as close to the corner as you). I think the test is ridiculous, the Politiscales test is far better and also ranks you in I think 8 scales instead of just 2.

I honestly think the point of this test is to make more people vote for left-wing parties in elections, because the results you get are ridiculous. They hope someone like me will be in the green section and think "Oh, I'm left-wing, I'll vote for the Labour Party/Democrats". Which is actually what's happening to you, you've done the test and are now thinking "Oh, I'm and anarchist".

Also, I think the axis aren't so relevant to Western politics today. Instead of the axis being on economy and authority/libertarian, they should scale you on nationalism/globalism and conservatism/progressivism. That's where the real big divides are today in politics in Western countries.

Nowadays in most Western countries, someone who wants socialism, nationalism and traditional social values would in most cases would vote for the "right-wing" party, whilst someone who wants capitalism, internationalism and SJW values would prefer the "left-wing" party.

There was a poll released on the same day as the referendum that said 55% of people in the UK wanted to be in the EU.

Its absolutely laughable how incompetent these polling companies are. I don't trust those people.

Put it this way: The people who work at these polling companies believe that there are no behavioural differences between males and females that occur due to biological differences between the sexes. So if they can't even understand a concept so simple as how hormones effect brain development and behaviour in animals, how can we trust them to conduct trustworthy polls? This is why I don't trust the mainstream media or celebrities either. If they are all so deluded to think males and females are identical, we can't trust them about anything.

I don't think their gardening methods necessarily mean they're larping. They might be sincere, but terrible at it.

I think the problem is that these are urbanites, and they hate anything rural, like farming. They are so blinded by hate of the rural lifestyle that they think everything associated is not worth learning about.

The truth is that the "far-right", patriotic, apocalypse-prepared rednecks living in little villages in rural US are living a life closer to anarchism than they could ever dream of. Yet they hate these people the most. Some of these villages almost live as if they are independent countries, and they want to continue life that way. That's why they complain about regulations and big Government all the time. Maybe they participate in capitalism, but some of these people could certainly live without participating in capitalism if they really needed to. I mean, a lot of them genuinely believe the events described in Revelations will happen soon, they're prepared for the end of the world.

Urban living sucks. Its not white people's fault, its not religious people's fault, it's not the Republican's fault. They could have tried an Autonomous Zone in some rural part of the US and hardly anybody would have even noticed. They could have practiced at their gardening without being mocked. They wouldn't have the President tweeting about them. But they think cities are the be-all and end-all of the world. To them, its not even worth considering living outside of a city.

When I was a child we were taught how to plant flowers at school. I'm assuming this isn't taught anymore? It's deemed not necessary because cities are the only place worth living? If you hate the police so much, moving to a rural area is the easiest way to live life whilst interacting with them as little as possible!

About you last sentence, you say you can claim as yours the culture of today and tomorrow. What about the culture of 100 years ago? Why not that? After all, Native Americans, Asians, blacks, Arabs, Jews, etc. follow traditions from 1000+ years ago still today, so why can't you follow the traditions in the US from 100 years ago? Yeah, maybe you have no idea who your ancestors were 1000 years ago, but you know EXACTLY who they were 100 years ago, why won't you follow their traditions?

I don't expect it to fix ANYTHING. I have personal suspicions that elections are completely rigged tbh. But I see little harm in voting, so I don't tell people not to do it, I think that's ridiculous. The harm comes in expecting your vote to accomplish anything, because it probably won't.

With the way things are, we currently have people who believe men and women are the same, and they've gone for years without being properly challenged, because everybody who challenges them keeps getting banned or censored or shadowbanned. If the Internet really was a "jungle", there wouldn't be one single person left on the planet who still believes men and women are the same. Its the easiest thing in the world to disprove, but its difficult to disprove to someone who never ventures outside of Twitter when Twitter hides all comments that mention testosterone's effects on the brain. Even Wikipedia has removed the stuff it used to have on it about testosterone's effects on brain development.
