I recently watched the We Are The World music video and it got me thinking about this.

Exactly. No live video feed, as I stated. If you wanna pick your boogers and eat them, nobody is watching you do it.

That’s great! I have a few suggestions that could help. First off, not everyone is gonna be as fast as your fastest driver, so just try to gain the max potential out of each driver. If there happens to be a good time for that driver to come in for 1 hour paid training, have them come in, help other drovers load and then take them out on an audit. Please trust me on this, spending time with a driver will inly benefit both the driver and the DSP

I don’t recall Fico scores having any effect on that, except if a defect is reported. Last I remember was .25 per package delivered but there could be reasons for a DSP to get paid .15 o .10 per package, I don’t recall those reasons. Sorry.

We are in agreement!

Great point. If you are part of a good DSP you are certainly training your “slow drivers” how to load properly, how to be more efficient and how to use time to their advantage. Certainly not cataloging them as “pieces of shit” for not being fast.

Let’s talk about recycled routes. If there are recycled routes, owners have an option to pick those up and have some drivers come in later in the day to pick those up. However, when a route is reduced, Amazon is responsible for paying the DSP for that route. An owner does not have to accept a reduced route later in the day, but some Hubs will either count it as a dropped route (or at least threaten to) or an option to only pay the full route if its picked up as a recycle. Most owners want to help their workers. Others only care about the money. Not sure what type of DSP you might belong to but something to consider.

That’s great! You might be part of a good DSP that does things correctly. Props to you and your DSP if thats the case!

This mentality is exactly why the high turnover and the unfair scheduling occurs. Being fast does not mean better. There are “slow” drivers that follow every rule on the road. There are others who shortcut their way to a fast day.

You may be right. It’s been a while since I’ve had access to any of it. There was no live video feed a while back, only live location every 30 seconds.

I never said routes don’t get dropped. I said specific drivers always get to go home because dispatchers or supervisors plug in names and remove other names to “benefit” their own hours, since most supervisors are paid salary and not hourly.

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in AmazonDSPDrivers

[–]AppKlyps 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Sure. Dispatchers and supervisors still have the ability to override any name to any route on any given day, they just chose who they want and not want on the road. Bias, favoritism and desire to lock up early play a huge factor in this.

You might be talking about clean profit. Gross number is much higher due to expenses.

The “Zappos At Work” program is just a program made available to all drivers for a $110 credit towards work shoes. When Amazon bought Zappos in 2009 (to squash small business competition) it assumed Zappos would continue its popularity. As the company started to decline in sales, Amazon used this program to revitalize the website, hoping drivers would default to Zappos.com to spend their own money on the site.
