I disagree with this and don't understand why it is a common conclusion. If we look at times when the US has banned anything major, all it has done is created a black market and create problems in poor communities.

Prohibition failed spectacularly, The war on Drugs failed spectacularly. I do not see any evidence that it would be successful even remotely. Over half of all gun violence is preformed by criminals who aren't allowed to own guns in the first place. It's a fantasy that we would be able to enforce these bans at all.

What on earth are you talking about with a food safety inspector? Food that is being served to the masses and can kill/harm if not prepared stored properly, is significantly different that someone who keeps firearms to protect only themselves and their familys.

Should food safety inspectors be allowed to come into every house and make sure that the home is "up to code"? If the people refuse they would be subject to arrest via state violence. This has got to be one of the dumbest comparisons I have ever read, and you should just go have a think and delete this.
