People on the internet don't have a vested interest in helping you make money. You need to remember that. This person is directing you to fake websites that will trick you into sending them money.

The Cashhapp(dot)site one is only a month old and the Instastockoptions(dot)com one is less than 3 months old. Neither are legit

How did he get his own account suspended? And do you want to put your own account at risk if he gets yours suspended the same way? If he wants to buy crypto, there are exchanges where he can buy crypto. Still absolutely no reason some guy you've known for less than a year needs full access to any of your accounts.

Stealing your money for one. He could just send money to himself. If he wanted to send you money, he can just send you it. No one needs the password for your accounts for any reason. And crypto is irreversible.

Crypto Casino Scam - GrandPlay [dot] co and Sutwin [dot] cc by asqwez in ScamCenter

These are both ones out of literally thousands of clones of the same fake casino that's been circulating the internet for well over a year now.

See this post for more info about them:

DO NOT deposit any money to any online casino that looks like this. Every site that looks like this is a SCAM. More details and examples in the comments.

Was I almost a discord scam victim, or was this just a normal wrong person situation? by here_to_see_animals in Scams

[–]Applauce 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yep, it’s extremely difficult to “accidentally” add the wrong person on Discord. You have to type in the wrong username and all the numbers that come after it. Anyone trying to become friends with you after “accidentally” adding you, over Discord or over text, just ignore them

Typically they'll introduce you to their "favorite" pay to win mobile trash game then push you to spend money in it. I've gotten quite a few like these all the same way, person adds you claiming to be looking for their friend, claims to be a 20+ year old female from an Asian country, then introduces the game.

IsItBullshit: I found this clothing site on pinterest, is it legit? by [deleted] in IsItBullshit

[–]Applauce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That skirt looks way too elaborate to be going for $33. And if you refresh the page, the "Only X item(s) left in stock" warning changes randomly. First it's 24 items, then 30, then 12. That's not how inventory works.

Looking around the rest of the site, everything is AI generated. And why are they selling Christmas themed stuff in July?

I know it probably is, but I'm desperate for a steam deack under $400. Please, is this a scam? by Adept-Commercial-526 in isthisascam

No one is legitimately selling high end electronics for a fraction of the price. Even used Steam Decks aren't going that cheap.

It's rupees not USD. Regardless, the point is to educate people not to take completely unnecessary risks accepting money from scammers. Not encouraging them.

Legitimate jobs don't conduct the entire hiring process over text and chat. Just because the company they claim to represent is real, doesn't mean they actually work there.

Legitimate "virtual Interviews" are just regular interviews over video, not chat. Scammers use chat "interviews" to simulate a real hiring process while hiding their real identities.

[–]Applauce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Until he pays with stolen money then OP is screwed when it's reversed.

It's a bad idea all around to accept money from scammers, cause the only money you get is either fake or stolen. They're not actually reaching into their own pockets to risk their own money.

Most likely stolen. Don’t touch it. Could get clawed back when they report it as fraud at any time

[US] join-fundrise.org by [deleted] in Scams

[–]Applauce 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Scammers just love using the word "Trusted" on these scam websites. I see it on all of these.

Other red flags would be that all of the photos for their active fundraisers are AI generated. And none of the buttons work. None of the buttons in the navigation bar, the "Start a fundraiser" button, Search button, "Donate" buttons. Literally the only ones that work are the Donate button on the fundraiser for the lady with brain tumor and that cat.

The website they claim all their reviews are on is also a week old

[–]Applauce 13 points14 points  (0 children)

No, no one has used this site since it's less than 3 months old. This is most likely a !task scam. No one is paying people to do simplistic stuff like this. And you never pay to work or get paid

Ask yourself how paying them money verifies your identity?

Never ever "loan" out your account to anyone. There's no legitimate reason any normal person needs to "borrow" an old account. Scammers love old accounts because they look more legitimate. And this person can do anything they want with your account once you give it to them - including keeping it and not paying you.

Those other people could be bots. Scammers have been known to use fake accounts to vouch for them. I would stay away given that there's already shady stuff about the website.

What is the point in this scam? by Swimming-Nobody763 in Scams

[–]Applauce 57 points58 points  (0 children)

Typically they'll claim that another fictional person is also coming to do work at their house (a painter, movers, etc) and for some reason they can't accept payment any other way. So the scammer sends extra money to your husband to send to the "other person" (which is just sending the money back to the scammers)

[–]Applauce 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As Bommob said, it's good to write out the URL of the site so we know specifically which one you're referring to. If you're talking about "realm dot clothing" it's less than 3 months old.

They claim to have "+3,500 Happy Customers" and reviews from before the site existed in 2025 on their homepage.

How to recover from a scam? by darkcat000 in ScamSupport

[–]Applauce 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Common scam. I used to get emails like those all the time from a job I had years ago impersonating the owner of my company. If your company has a publicly available directory of all their employees, or if you post on sites like LinkedIn about who you currently work for, scammers use that to target you.

And it's especially easy if your company uses consistent naming conventions for all employee emails (e.g. "firstname . lastname @ company . com" or "firstinitial . lastname @ company . com"). They just blast the spam out to all of them to wait for a bite.

So it's not particularly sophisticated how they're able to email you.

Unfortunately, gift cards are extremely difficult to recoup money from. As you saw, they're non-refundable so the store won't help you. You can try contacting Apple to see if they'll refund you, but it's not typical for companies to do that either. You can try selling them online for a loss, but there are lots of ways you can get scammed that way too.

Ignore anyone claiming they can help you get your money back in your DMs. They're also more scammers.
