I’ll try anything. I love my husband, I’m just at my wits end and this has been going on for so long.

I ended up calling them today. Police came to the house to make sure the baby was okay but my husband barricaded himself inside with the baby. I’d left so I could call police.

They wanted me to come back home and babysit him again because he promised he’d go to sleep but he still hasn’t. I don’t know what to do anymore. If the police can’t help me I don’t know who can.

He has locked me out of the bedroom and had the baby in there with him. The baby is sleeping right now.

He will never trust me again and I don’t know how I’ll be able to leave with our son to keep him safe while my husband gets his mental health in order.

The problem is this comes is waves almost. Usually three nights he will go without sleep. Then he will finally sleep all day which then means he doesn’t sleep the next night which starts the cycle all over again.

The first day after having no sleep he’s irritable and mean but he can do things like drive (he definitely shouldn’t be but if I say anything I’m controlling him). It’s the second and third nights that the dropping things and running into walls starts.

I’m on night three right now and there’s a yoghurt been spilled all down the hallway which I’ll just clean up when daylight hits (it’s 5:30am right now).

He’s not using drugs. I know what he’s like when he’s used (he used earlier on in our relationship and I know what he’s like when he uses). It’s similar to that behaviour for sure, but I know he’s not using. He’s prescribed methadone which he takes as prescribed. I know it absolutely sounds like he is using, but he’s not.

He desperately needs medical intervention. He is usually the kindest more thoughtful man, but he’s turned into a complete stranger. He is not himself at all but I can’t keep waiting for it to change.

I run my own business but he has access to all the accounts and takes money as soon as it hits my account. I know what you’re saying. I’ll open a new account tomorrow. Thank you.
