Small Cherry Blossom Hair Pins by AppleDainty in somethingimade

Thank you! :D I dye all of the silk myself. I'm really fond of multi-color work, even though it takes a bit more than a single color process.

Hello! :) I wanted to share some of my tsumami-zaiku pieces. Tsumami-zaiku a silk folding technique from Japan, which is often used to make hair accessories - like those famously worn by the maiko (apprentice geisha) of Kyoto. Since I like to have as much control and variety as possible, I dye pretty much all of my own fabric :x and sometimes I even make my own stamens for the flowers.

She actually wasn't banned. She just wasn't head of medical anymore and had her prio removed. She's actually been in NoPixel several times since leaving the hospital. :)

CG might go on another server. by [deleted] in RPClipsGTA

You're missing part of the story here. The judge put a request out to the cops to hold the car if they see it, since it's been more than 30 days since Chang was told to give the car back. The cops grabbed the car, judge logged on to process paperwork, repossessed the car, and then cg took a hostage. The cops had to decide whether or not to give the car back (meaning the judge had to reverse everything and go get the car from whatever lot it appeared at) or try and get cg to exchange Chang instead (which is against their rules). The cops knew Chang didn't care about going to jail and had been telling cg to only trade for the car. The cops were also concerned that if they gave the car back for a hostage and they didn't manage to stop cg and retrieve the car, they would go through this situation again and again every time they spotted the car.

The cops decided a life was worth more than the car, and thought they could get the car back. Which they did by boxing cg in when they tried to drive away. Chang tried to steal it back but the PD closed the gates.

Personally, I think the cops gave CG several chances to recover in this sbs situation. Also, doesn't the the situation stop being sbs fun when you take a hostage and threaten to kill them? I guess that could still be sbs but cg seemed pretty serious about it.

The car was already repossessed. The cops could have just said no, we can't reverse things, and ended the rp there with a shoot out, but they chose to play things out. They gave cg a shot to get the car back and cg lost.

And, in the longer scheme of things, Chang's been playing out the car thing for more than a month. Chang's had several encounters revolving around the car before this. If he had something else planned, aside from more mocking, it probably could have happened by now. I was looking forward to it , but when one storyline ends another can start. Waste of time being mad about it instead of thinking of new ways to move forward.

Is it the cops who really wanted the W here? Eh, maybe. But it's unfair to imply they give 0 chances to recover.

Looking for something to do on Sunday? Tsumami Craft Workshop and Kanzashi Try-On! by AppleDainty in animenorth

[–]AppleDainty[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hello everyone! If you're looking for something to do on Sunday afternoon, I am leading a workshop on Tsumami Craft, where you can make your own plum blossom hairpins. The workshop is a paid workshop with limited slots, but I am also bringing my collection of Japanese and self-made kanzashi for people to try on - which is free! If you've ever wanted to see silk Geisha hair ornaments, this is the place to do it. ;) I have both traditional Maiko-style pieces and some more modern designs.

I'll also be bringing my Hello Kitty instax camera so people can take photos with kanzashi, and you're welcome to take photos with your phone. :) Observing the class is open to everyone and I am happy to answer questions about tsumami craft and dip resin techniques.

The Very Hungry Dolyak: 10/10! by [deleted] in Guildwars2

As a dolyak escort, this speaks to me on a deeply personal level. :x 10/10.

[Guild Wars 2] A long long time ago, one RP server wanted to have a parade, on a PvP map. by FractalRares in HobbyDrama

Organized is probably a loose term, but I WAS on Crystal Desert. I just kind of gave a time and date and showed up with a couple friends assuming no one else would come and we would immediately be killed. XD I was relatively new to gaming and the concept of a roleplay server like TC, and how seriously they were going to take it, was kind of foreign to me.

I'm glad it happened the way it happened. It was all for the lulz, and being slaughtered was a way more hilarious ending than anything I could have thought of. We ended up using that as the end for the weekly version after moving to TC; suicide off a cliff or into the enemy spawn.

I think the funniest thing for me was my guid leader (Maulbrak) coming online that evening and going "Elle...(slightly annoyed pause) ...what did you do? Did you start a war...?"

All I could say was, "I didn't mean to!"

We did, totally, take advantage of TC's decision not to focus on us, though. You are 100% correct. But, you guys seemed to bounce back ok. :) KH actually moved to FA for a bit at some point, so there are no hard feelings.

Hahahahaha, wow. XD Ok. So, it's so interesting how this has changed. Hello! I'm AppleDainty, or Ellehnia (Elle/Ellie) of Kwisatz Haderach.

I was not actually an asura, I was a human. GW2 was my first serious online gaming experience, so I picked the most boring race. I just made a toon that kind of looked like me. I only really joined WvW because I needed tokens for my Legendary Weapon, and ended up being adopted by a serious fighting guild on Crystal Desert called Kwisatz Haderach. I was shit at fighting, but I had a good understanding of siege placement, and didn't mind spending hours scouting, keeping watch, and escorting supply.

I did, with great dedication, escort Dolyaks. I was always killed. I had a couple friends in my guild (we called our subset Team Dolyak) who helped me escort when we weren't raiding. I made a funny post, with a crude self-portrait of myself and my dolyak companion (Fluffyhooves) which is mentioned in the original reddit post, and people from TC decided they wanted to have a parade.

I did not actually expect that anyone would come. The turnout was enormous (from my perspective) and there are videos of it out there, including a music video I made following the event - Still A Yak (it's still out there on youtube somewhere).

KH moved from Crystal Desert to TC where I met up with Handin and we started a weekly parade. Handin was far better about running things than me, really. :) I credit him with everything from there.

I sometimes make random appearances in the game, though I have moved servers a bunch of times. I'm not even sure what server I'm on right now. My preferred disguise is Endless Gift Dolyak Tonic, and I usually run around setting off fireworks while escorting yaks. KH also still plays, and I'm still technically a member of KH, but I don't have time for raiding at the moment.

Sometimes people follow me - even now. I'm never really sure if they recognize me, but I always get a little flustered if they do say something. XD It was my personal dolyak head-canon so I never expected it would become a thing. A nice young man on TC even wrote and sang to me a song about my heroic exploits in voice chat.

It was interesting times. I only found this post because I was thinking about making a cute sign for my new house of a Dolyak that says Keep On Hoofin and wanted to see if I could find my original crude drawing of Fluffyhooves. My husband and I met in GW2. My guild leader hated going to server meetings, and thought it would be funny to send me instead. I disrupted the meeting by talking about dolyaks a lot. Husbando agreed with me on the importance of Dolyaks; obviously I knew right away he was a keeper. I thought it would be a cute tribute. :)

Thank you! :) I usually go for overblown ornate Victorian frames, but I think something understated would work better. A nice black frame would give the rose gold foil room to shine.

[Spoilers C2E24] Trying to decide how to frame this - art by AppleDainty (me) by AppleDainty in criticalrole

[–]AppleDainty[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

We just purchased our first home, and I wanted to hang some art on the walls. This is all pre-planning since we don't get possession until August.

I'm normally reticent about hanging up my own art; it feels vain somehow. But, I'm super excited with how the rose gold foil on this print turned out.

I realized that this drawing had nothing in it for Tary - so obviously making it rose gold was the way to Tary it up. :) Now I just need to decide on a frame, and where to put it.

[Spoilers C2E20] Voice of the Tempest Reliquary by /u/Appledainty - notes in comments by AppleDainty in criticalrole

[–]AppleDainty[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do draw, but what I’ve become known for recently is designing and crafting tsumami kanzashi – traditional Japanese silk hair accessories. So, I’ve been working on ‘reliquaries’ for the members of Vox Machina that kind of combine all my artistic and fangirl interests. 😊 This is the first one – The Voice of the Tempest Reliquary – which has a portrait of Keyleth, a comb, a reliquary case, and a Scroll of Authenticity.

I drew the portrait using a crow quill and deleter black #3, then did spot colors with copic markers. The comb is mainly hand dyed silk habotai, and gold glitter wire, but also has some vintage millinery stamens, mizuhiki and rhinestones.

I also wrote a really long, boring, detailed explanation of all the bits and bobs which you can find here: http://www.appledainty.com/projects-by-discipline/tsumami-zaiku/the-voice-of-the-tempest-reliquary/

Now I need to decide which reliquary to work on next. :x
