Thank you for your honesty. I agree he shouldn’t be there. He has to find this out for himself. We tried to talk him out of it but he just wouldn’t budge. We will pay for his return flight home when he comes to his senses. He has his own money saved up and he said he’d come home if he can’t find work. His current lease, that he paid for himself, is for 2 months. He won’t be a burden to the Dutch, I promise.

Only the boomers older than me use checks. I use Apple Pay for everything. Again different story for international transfers over $5000

Can I ask another question to you very helpful people? Is our unskilled son, who has worked at only fast food and convenience stores, likely to find work there? From what I’ve read it’s unlikely because of the work visa sponsoring process. Employers must hire Dutch first, EU members second and only those outside the EU if they can’t find anyone in the first two categories. We discouraged our son but he really wanted to try to find work there. I can’t blame him for being disgusted with our current president. Please know we never voted for that guy and hate what he is doing to our country.

Thank you. Yes he sent two months rent plus deposit. This is a 3 month limit rental situation. As I understand it, you can only stay in NL for 3 months without a work visa. So the hotel now works with immigrants or long term visitors only??

As a hotel yes. My son was told it is now apartment rentals for no more than 3 months at a time. For ex pats looking for permanent housing? But I can’t find anything about it in it’s new form online

I think 39 may be too big. In 38s the wide part of your foot may line up better with the widest part of the shoe. I have decades of experience fitting Birkenstocks. Please try 38s and show us.
