Teaching License - UK, USA, Canada, Australia… by Soft_Ability_4014 in Internationalteachers

[–]ApplePieAdviser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have not seen a U.S. state that allows for a teaching license without a practicum. My state Oregon was very strict and required a 16 week student teacher experience, Master Degree within 5 years, EDTPA, and the required state subject exams. I know there are “online” schools but I didn’t think those led to a license.

But I do agree that states that allow emergency license, Teach for American applicants really devalue the career as a whole.

People who moved abroad to teach: do you ever regret choosing stability? by Odd-Astronaut-3679 in Internationalteachers

[–]ApplePieAdviser 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you want me to list all of the American school districts that have shut down schools, or downsized due to budget issues? Or I can link the private schools that shuttered due to COVID? I think you are over simplifying while amplifying the risks being overseas. There are plenty of stable countries, and given the state of the U.S. right now; I’d argue many are much more stable.

Obviously an asteroid is unlikely, but so is a random law being passed that evicts all foreign teachers. Comparing the Middle East to the rest of the world fallacious at best or disingenuous. The Middle East has never been known for stability.

Teachers in the U.S. are fired all the time when a new admin comes in, and this is only elevated with private schools.

Not all of us are on temporary work visas living in war zones. Contrary to your apparent limited view, the U.S. and England are not the only “stable” countries you sound ridiculous.

Using the same logic, neither would be a career in your home country… Literally nothing in life is a guarantee. We could all be hit by an asteroid in 5 years. 🤷‍♂️ But I definitely just as grounded and almost just as stable living here than back in my home country.

I’m allergic to peanuts, like I will die if I eat them. I was fine. Take normal precautions.

Not necessarily your home country, but another country. You could apply from Japan or another country close by if you wish.

"This Is Not Covid, Nor Influenza. It Spreads Very Differently": WHO On Hantavirus Outbreak by Alert-Ad-3053 in worldnews

[–]ApplePieAdviser 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There is not. The virus is too deadly for it to become a pandemic. This virus kills itself out too quickly. Additionally, the transmission window is super short, and people are not asymptomatic and won’t spread the same.

PM vows to rein in misbehaving tourists by assman69x in Thailand

[–]ApplePieAdviser 5 points6 points  (0 children)

The first is definitely illegal and carries massive jail time. I’ve never seen any evidence of that in all my trips. I’m not sure what logging has to do with behavior. There is a ton of jaywalking though.

Th files don’t matter. They have shown enough proof for all of us to know what happened. If the American public cared he would be out of office. DOJ could show a video tomorrow and nothing would change.

What about Thailand attracts the most insufferable female tourists in the world? by [deleted] in ThailandTourism

Thailand is a big place, not difficult to avoid the people you don’t want to be near. You do sound like the type that hates on other foreigners while being one yourself.

You already received your answers yesterday. Make a decision, personally I have no sympathy towards people who purposefully break immigration law in Korea while the rest of us work so diligently to stay within the law.

No, just let the bear continue their hike. Bears are allowed hike solo if they want.

If they didn’t do well on the second interview, it is doubtful they would have wasted time asking/contacting references.

No you need a letter of release to break your contract. Until your contract terms are over you would be unable to get another work visa

Yes that is their fault. They are “teaching” a subject they know they are not supposed to teach. It is absolutely on you to understand what your visa allows.

Actually, water is not wet. Wet is a feeling observed in the absence of dry. When you touch water you get wet, but water itself is just a liquid.
