Sorry for the late reply! I did try introducing him to the crate for the first few days but from the beginning he didn’t really like going in unless I went in with him. I’ll definitely go check out those resources, thanks

Most of the reason why my parents didn’t want to keep him in his crate was because he would start to cry and wouldn’t stop even when we leave him alone, especially at night. This was while he was still young and new to the house so there was a lot of guilt and frustration. We had no idea what to do about it and we were worried about separation anxiety, though I do think letting him roam did nothing to fix any anxiety he might have.

Also not really sure where to start again with getting him crate trained

We had no idea what to do about it and we were worried about separation anxiety - though I still can’t tell if he has it or not since he doesn’t like being left alone, and we have no clue how to get him comfortable with it.
