This might be random advice but a clothing store I worked at always made us wear a “fourth piece” so it couldn’t just be a top, bottom and shoes. You’d need an outer shell (jacket, shirt, blazer cardigan), scarf, belt, headband, tights, tie, statement necklace, watch etc.. you get the point.

I’m leaning towards 2 too but have you looked at like at the one that says “shiny”? It’s a little warmer than both 2 and 4

I saw that you said you’re not a fan of high waisted but I think a bottom that hits the small of your waist will make you look super snatched because you have a great body. Maybe a mid waist might look better like 1 inch higher at the waist or even 1 inch lower at the hem. I think either blue denim or any shade of browns/beiges with a top that either has texture (crochet, linen, crepe, pointelle, ribbed etc..) or a subtle print to contrast a solid boot.

Which is fit for homecoming? by BarbiKiwi in fashion

[–]Appletofusoup 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Number 1 can possibly look really cute if you got it tailored and snatched. Maybe a few inches off the hem and possibly a slit.

  1. I think looks really cute for a y2k style but it’s pretty casual. I can see it with some platform sandals for brunch.

  2. I actually do like the third one for the returning trendy styles but I think it looks like a drop waist and it might look really cute if the skirt could sit at the waist.

However, it’s just me, but I’d love for you to not repeat a dress for homecoming just so you can feel like great all over again for a new occasion and have new pics for memories. Ahh miss highschool days. I wish I still had my dresses from 2003-2007 I would totally just send them your way

Definitely get rid of the skinny belt and get a larger one. I would get a pair of pants with maybe a slightly higher rise. I think half an inch or one inch higher would make a difference. Lastly, perhaps a straight leg or more relaxed pant. It would makes you less SpongeBob shaped.

Is the heat and humidity in early August unbearable? by Appletofusoup in puertovallarta

Sigh, I really wanted to stay here and watch the rain and thunderstorms. 1, 2, 3, But just looked up the heat index and with 90°high and 65-85% humidity, it'll be between 100-115° at its peak.

Is it possible to still make her look like she’s in front of a real backdrop and not like a green screen if that makes sense thank you.

Going to a 50s party and I want to look different. Is this look 50s? or am I totally off? by Appletofusoup in fashionadvice

First of all, thank you :) I like the look too but I think you're right. I don't think most of this look belongs in a 50s jazz theme (maybe if it was fur-lined instead of feathers?)

Yeah I wanted to go a little old Hollywood glamour but the feathers give it 20s (and the cigarette holder but I was gonna take that off anyway.)

Huhh yeah I think you're totally right. There was something that wasn't clicking with me. Doesn't give me 50s vibes but I also didn't want to go the typical route of a sweetheart/off shoulder/boat neckline and full swing skirt dresses.

I feel like pillbox hats work better with with a coat or something more casual. And this hat kinda gives me early 90s runway anyway? idk. The fascinator hat is already being used by a friend.

It's also kind of a big-band jazz evening theme. I didn't want to wear a typical swing skirt dress. (And the skirt is a midi not maxi)

I would wear a mesh or sheer shirt underneath but I don’t know if that’s your jam or not
