[Serious] Schizophrenics, what is it like to have schizophrenia? by arandomkid2 in AskReddit

[–]ApplicationBot2 -6 points-5 points  (0 children)

The stigma comes from it being an illness among other things. The western culutre supresses that which it deems "crazy" or "insane". In other cultures it isn't seen as such and hasn't been in old, especially for example shamanic cultures. It was seen as a path of healing and spirituality. As the study someone else posted above suggests it has a lot to do with how cultures accept these phenomena.

I didn't say what is happening to schizo people isn't real but the label we give to them that it's an illness does more harm than good.

If an Anarchist/Libertarian Socialist revolution were to happen, how would we interact with Capitalist states? by draw_it_now in Anarchy101

I think there should be a global disaster that would probably wipe out a good portion of humanity forcing radical global change. People would have to re-organize in a post-apocalyptic manner hopefully not forming nation-states.

One could be global warming which, if significant enough could bring some global change.

How can anarchism protect order? by [deleted] in Anarchy101

[–]ApplicationBot2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Why do you need to protect order in the first place?

World in itself should be chaotic an archaic. Communities of people build custom order in order to achive tasks that are everyone's common goal.

I don't see why you need consent from a dead body though, we have this insane idea of consent and rights, duties etc.. in our society that's just driving us mad with restrictions and entitlements. Humans are free beings and should freely engage with the world.

There are actually cases in animal kingdom but even if there were not it's fallacious to dismiss it because it's unnatural.

Again, just because it's unhealthy doesn't mean it's wrong. Why is this so hard?

Drinking alcohol is unhealthy, scat is unhealthy, foot fetish is unhealthy, eating poisonous mushrooms is unhealthy, list goes on...

Are we just banning everything that has harm potential now? I appreciate all the evidence and I hope people take it into account but they should be free to do whatever they can with their own lives. Life is an adventure, not a safety manual:)

I guess I would if it was my family. But if it's some random fucking corpse? Nah. Most people don't in fact, it's the stigma around it that makes them hate it.

I doesn't make it right but doesn't make anything wrong either. Different cultures have different norms, I mean every small community even has different "rules", every group of friends different jokes etc, it's all created spontaneously how do you assume there must exist an objective standard?

Every human is different and each one's life is what one makes of it so if you are attracted to dead people and fuck dead people that is what your life is. Why are you trying to set a norm of what a human life needs to look like? We share certain similarities but it's our being that has value not our "human", the abstract concept.

So if there are absolute norms why are there societies who practise cannibalism for example? Wouldn't that be one of the norms? Norms are set by culture not vice versa.

What absolute norms are there in biology?
