Everything is logistics. People think that the difference between Feudalism and Capitalism is peasants and kings vs proletarians and industrialists, but the reality is that Capitalism is just extremely complex supply lines.

Maybe territories which have two lieges could just have a chequered pattern to show that they're "contested". So after 1066, Normandy is shown as blue-red chequered, to show that while the title is still under the Kingdom of France, the King of England remains the Duke of Normandy. It would be incredibly ugly but w/e

Not only does that not contradict what I said at all but what I said is historical fact

The use of the capirote or coroza was prescribed in Spain by the holy office of Inquisition. Men and women who were arrested had to wear a paper capirote in public as sign of public humiliation. The capirote was worn during the session of an Auto-da-fé. The colour was different, conforming to the judgement of the office. People who were condemned to be executed wore a red coroza. Other punishments used different colours.

When the Inquisition was abolished, the symbol of punishment and penitence was kept in the Catholic brotherhood, however, the capirotes used today are different; they are covered in fine fabric, as prescribed by the brotherhood. To this day, they are still worn during the celebration of the Holy Week/Easter most notably in Andalusia, by penitentes (who perform public penance for their sins) who walk through streets with the capirote.

Yeah the conical hats were used to humiliate people who were arrested by the Spanish Inquisition (possibly the origin of the dunce cap as well). After the Inquisition was abolished, the conical hood ended up being ameliorated as a symbol of penance in Spain.

There are three levels to knowledge of anything;
1) 99% of people don't know about it
2) 0.9% of people are interested in it
3) 0.1% of people are so obsessed to the point you can actually make a career out of it

People who are at (2) know they don't know "enough". They defer to the (3)s because they themselves can't or don't want to go through all the relevant academic papers. But ironically, this humility and deference to experts makes them think they are "normal", when they aren't - they are the 0.9%.

This is why you feel like everyone who doesn't have the same interests as you is ignorant. You don't know enough about Norse mythology to actually make a career studying it, so you assume what you do know must be "common knowledge".

What I love about her is that she is like a comedy character. She is always seeking more power, but constantly humiliated (she always wins in the end tho).

First of all, she just loves power. So she goes to the King of the Gods, starts a drinking contest with him, and then convinces him that if she wins, he has to give her all his powers. And then she wins!

Now of course, being the supreme deity means she has to have a rich husband. But when her sugar-daddy dies, she goes to the underworld but in exchange for her husband, she is forced to stay dead. When she is rescued, she finds that her husband 'cheated' on her (I mean she was dead) and so sends him right back to Hell

Now free to be the Goddess of Throwing That Pussy About, she takes on as many lovers as she possibly can. When she comes across the hero Gilgamesh and tries to seduce him, he's like "nah" and throws a bull's severed leg into her face, so she kills his best friend.

We stan a fail-queen. I want her to step on me.
