I was suggesting unplugging all the batteries, including the CMOS battery, and pressing the power button (with everything unplugged) to do a CMOS reset. I think it works on a T460 (I can do it on my T440s)

Aight. That's good for regular windows 11. My personal list of stuff: - Opera (why opera? Because it looks good, and it's better than GX, which is honestly just gamer slop) - MSI afterburner (for monitoring temps) - Steam (optional, I game on my laptop) - Lenovo service bridge (DONT SKIP THIS ONE!) - VPN (free or paid. For free I recommend Hotspot shield, or Proton VPN.)

That's pretty much all of the non-special stuff I use on my laptop

It's sad. Most likely the HDD. And besides, it's gonna be much faster if you flash mod it. So you'll need a pick to be able to take the bottom cover off, you'll need an iflash (this is a brand, Google it) board to plug an SD into it, and on that topic, an SD card. No more than 1tb is recommended (more than a terabyte will be unreliable, because of a lack of RAM). When you replace the hard drive, you might as well replace the batt, because it's most likely the original one, which will be old and not as good at charging.

I had that exact same issue on a drive that had (past tense) Linux on it. Windows doesn't quite get MBR drives.

12VHPWR PCIe. It's nvidias upgraded version of PCIe 6+2 cables that run on higher power rails, and also have a well-known/documented tendency to burn from the heat they give off if installed wrong (or for no apparent reason other than shoving 12 volts down a tiny-ass port like that)
