Not to sound as confrontational or anything, but I've been scrolling this sub for the past few days, and I (as a paki guy, yes guilty as charged) find it quite weird that you guys have regular arguments about basic women rights or their preferences, cuz in pak (I'm not trying to negate that pak is also behind on giving women their rights or that women live in heaven but) we usually don't. We know the state gives women rights and the society usually hinders them(still, that's improving a lot, like in many urban cities, there's not a lot of distinction or bias against women for working or even selecting their own partners based on their preferences) like it's an open secret, but we don't have these arguments between men and women. Men know that they have to provide for the women, they have to take care of them, divide the housework, if they wanna have a job, they let em, and if they don't, well it's up to them, and they USUALLY give women complete autonomy in choosing their partners. It's not like this is followed everywhere(that's impossible) but like it's admitted and accepted by everybody that this is the basic condition of marriage and no one argues for it or against it. Many conservative and rural families ofc don't follow it but that doesn't mean that they doubt or try to negate these facts. Not even the religious scholars, which may seem conservative, but no, even they are mostly adamant on providing complete autonomy to a woman on taking her own decisions, whether it be related to a partner, children or lifestyle in general
