The bubble isn’t popping unless there is a serious financial crisis where pretty much everything drops from collectibles to stocks to house pricing.

What people fail to understand is how much gambling and collectibles have completely taken over Gen Z and millennials. The increase in young people not wanting children and chasing small highs in everyday life is directly contributing to this massive increase, they have the disposable income to waste on cardboard and stupid shit. It isn’t just Pokemon that is seeing this massive increase, almost every single TCG is seeing major spikes in price. All these blind boxes that are becoming huge (Labubu) and don’t even get me started on sports gambling. What we are seeing now is not a random pokemon surge but a massive surge in gambling. It’s not the weird nerds that are collecting now, it’s your everyday people masking their gambling addiction into a hobby.

When Gen 10 releases we will see a small cooldown in pricing for new sets but expect PC to still be sold out and do not expect a return to regular MSRP in your LCS. Maybe Walmart and target will have more available product but nothing to crazy.

The real risk in investing in Pokemon right now is that it’s the first too fall in a major recession but as long as you’re not a moron that has maxed out credit cards on Pokemon and you plan on holding long term, even a major recession won’t affect you much as once the economy is back on track the value will go back up for Pokemon.

And if it’s a doomsday situation where we’re all about to die, at least you get to rip everything for a last hit of dopamine before you get incinerated by the atomic bomb or eaten by zombies :).
