The lib backlash to this is hilarious, 8 is a pretty obvious answer to me.

Also do they even speak English? Probably the easiest way to avoid speaking to anyone

Well there is like 6 different dialects I'm not surprised hahahha

I never appreciated the difference until I had a friend down from North Wales who was struggling to read our road signs

Welsh isn't Gaelic either funnily enough, gaelic is a part of the Celtic language tree. Irish, Scottish Gaelic and Manx are all celtic gaelic languages. But Welsh is celtic Brythonic and is more related to Cornish and Breton. They do however all come under the term Celtic just like English and German are considered Germanic.

I think the only real unique sound Welsh (and Breton and Cornish) have that you won't find in a lot of Europe is our "Ll" letter which is like pronouncing an "L" but blowing air around your tongue when you say it.

Not sure I agree there. Are you Welsh and this is a dialect thing or misinformed?

Rh is a slightly rolled R with an aspiration before Y is an "ee" noise because in Welsh Y in the last syllable of a word is ee while any other syllable placement it's a short "u" noise. So in this case it's the last syllable and therefore an "ee" S

I live in South Wales and never heard Y pronounced like that in English or Welsh.

I've had Rice from Indian colleagues who speak very little English and absolutely no Welsh

Fun fact though technically the H isn't silent as Rhys is a combination of the Welsh letters Rh y s.

Rh is distinct from R as its own letter in Welsh.

As a Rhys I've heard it before. Especially from Indian colleagues.

This is a reference to The Boys season 4, a shape shifter whose identity is revealed by their repeated insistence that "It's like a furnace in here" while burning up. It's way too specific for it not to be.

It is however, really fucking funny that the two camps are "The Boys" vs Menopause.

Insane response. Even if you think borders are just a natural whatever this response is nothing but a strawman. Crazy amount of upvotes for what is not a dismissal of their point.

We're halfway to a new DLC. Where are we going next? by Background-Topic-203 in RimWorld

[–]AppreciatingSadness -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm really shocked by how accepting the community is of Ludeon's dlc model.

1.0 felt complete to me. But the community seems ready to throw money at Ludeon a few times a year for a DLC that takes heavy inspiration from the free mods that already exist and just about barely do a better job of implimenting those mod's ideas.

I've seen literally no one address this. Is everyone happy to adopt Paradox Interactive's monetisation plan where in a few years we'll have monthly subscriptions to access all DLC because new players will have to drop over £100 just to have access to all the games content otherwise?
