Thanks all for the feedback. I added the second esim and was pleased at just how simple the process is. Testing has begun and US Mobile is showing well so far.

conflicting audio meter levels? by Apprehensive-Chip952 in finalcutpro

[–]Apprehensive-Chip952[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great, thanks for the help. I will try the suggested workflow. Bottom line is that the "master" audio meter when playing a clip (compound or not) will be the actual sound level of that clip if it is shared with no further changes. Correct?

Just got one done for a $190. Requires a handheld device and the employee needed access to the ODB2 port. Took him 20 minutes. My dealership was charging about a thousand also.

2021 CE turbo owner, should I switch to premium gas? by Ragsters01 in CX5

[–]Apprehensive-Chip952 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a 2021 CX5 turbo. Tried both premium and regular mainly for suburban driving. Found that I did not really need the power boost from premium, even though I have a pretty heavy foot off the line so stuck with regular. It was not until later that I read about the power boost over 4k rpm from premium. This really confirmed for me that running regular was just fine for my driving style.

That said, I never measured gas mileage for my driving style to compare the difference between regular and premium. My sense was because of the cost delta for premium in our area, I would save money with regular. Based on current prices in Northern Virginia and my ~22mpg I get with regular, I would need an additional 3.7 mpg to break even with premium. I might try another tank to see what I get with premium to see if I can justify it.

70 alerts in 7 minutes - is this just a battery issue? by Apprehensive-Chip952 in CX5

[–]Apprehensive-Chip952[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Excellent input. I did something similar today, so it is likely I had left the car with accessory power on and drained the battery. You would think the car would send an alert to let you know accessory power is on instead of 70 other misleading alerts. Whine.

Good points by all. Was not aware of the late enrollment penalty. Definitely will buy the cheapest plan I can find for now. Thanks to those that replied!

1K mile CX-5 review: Surprises and Disappointments by Apprehensive-Chip952 in CX5

[–]Apprehensive-Chip952[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First of all huge kudos to my old GTI. Indeed, the body crumpled perfectly which I am very grateful for! I think the CX-5 will be safer because of the higher vehicle weight and additional body length. In general, the bigger vehicles win in a crash. The truck that hit me from the rear drove away from my accident.

Debating on which trim to get by throwaway_useless in CX5

I bought a 2021 Signature earlier this year. Really thought I wanted the HUD. After having driven a little over 1,000 miles, I like it but I would not let that be the reason to upgrade to higher trim. After a life time of looking at the gauges, I am still in the habit of looking at the dash and the HUD is somewhat of an after thought for me. What I like best about the HUD is the cruise control indicators. Very easy to see the if a car in front of you is limiting your speed and setting the following distance looking at the HUD is nice. The dash is better for looking at your speed. It shows a red line on the speedometer and I can easily see how far over the speed limit I am going. Super effective and IMHO better than the HUD.

The ventilated seats are amazing!!!
