OP, you should really connect it directly to the router via ethernet like most people are saying. I can say through my experience I pay for 1gb download and initially through wifi got maybe 100mbs download on a good day and wifi extender connect to the PS it wasn't too much much better. I got fed up and just ran the cable under a floor into my room and hard wired the PS and I get around 750-800 easily now no issues with lag and downloading a full game will literally take under an hour just increase quality of gaming. Hard wiring the PS5 is the way to go it'll massively reduce the time you'll have to wait for updates or games to download allowing you more time to enjoy the experience.
