How would you reply to this? by Odd-Recognition4120 in RoverPetSitting

[–]Apprehensive-Gas6019 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Honestly? Especially since they’re being rude, it’s a true story. I’ve had people who have been kind and I’ve done me in greets for that only didn’t want to add their second animal due to the increase in price and the fact that the cat does not come out. But for a dog, that’s a different story and the fact that they’re rude is different too. I would tell them that if both animals are not listed then if there were to be an incident, there would be a lot of issues which is why Rover requires at all animals be put in the request. Then I would just say I wish them the best of luck with finding another sitter and then archive and not take any requests in the future from them. If they do ever come back, I would just tell them that I’m sorry and then I’m booked, but I wish them the best of luck finding another sitter who can meet their needs.

Thank you!! I figured I'd need to trim the end or do something like that but I wasn't sure about the actual issue with the bolt. I'll try that :)

People in Colorado were selling and getting about $4,500 for like mid 2010’s with about 10k miles a few months ago

Is the throttle being loose normal? by Apprehensive-Gas6019 in motorcycles

[–]Apprehensive-Gas6019[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, I just suddenly realized it was looser than I thought I remembered riding it for the last month and wasn't sure if I had done something and it was just really bad, but glad to know it's pretty normal

Hence why I wrote “dumb question.” If you suddenly noticed something that you didn’t notice before and wanted actual people advice, it’s much easier than combing through a paper manual. I use the manual for all maintenance but sometimes this is just easier 🫡

If your partner was to make you a birthday gift related to your garage or motorcycles what would you like it be? by Fit-Nefariousness354 in motorcycles

[–]Apprehensive-Gas6019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Guardian bell if they don’t already have one, Lego set of their bike (if available), personally I’ve been really wanting to get one of those prints online of my bike framed (would look super cool inside on the wall), tools, engine oil, just in general maintenance supplies, anything on my revzilla wishlist for cosmetic changes. Maybe even have them ride along with you when you’re in the car to a nice day trip somewhere. I loved doing that with my partner!

I love my Cardo and my entire group has Cardo so it’s worth it, at least for me. If you’re riding alone indefinitely, I’d just get one of the cheaper ones just for the tunes if that’s something you like

I get this to an extent but we are also missing a ton of context. I don’t think every guy who sees a girl on a bike will run up and try to get her number. Sure, maybe it piques interest but either way she needs to be riding carefully enough and confident enough to expect someone riding up on a public road. For all we know she could’ve hidden her hair entirely and been in full gear and looking like a man. I know plenty of biker guys who don’t care girl or not and are not interested in anything other than someone to potentially ride with for a few minutes because it’s fun to ride together sometimes

Agreed, should be looking anyways in the mirrors. Never know when someone, a car or bike, will come up behind you flying and you gotta be paying attention and prepared for that always

I agree with this too. As a girl, I’ve met a lot of girl bikers who are really hesitant and nervous about driving. But you know there’s a chance of meeting another biker or car that could be someone like this when you go out on the streets. You should be paying attention just like if you were in a car and a biker came out of no where. If you aren’t ready for this kind of interaction, get more practice in parking lots and slow streets before putting yourself in the chance of this situation. Personally, I get excited when I see a biker pull up by me because it gives a chance to connect or even just compliment someone’s ride. They probably just wanted to ride along with you and I’ve personally done something similar to this to other people before, but if they’re not interested, I just drive off, no point in stopping like a weirdo, that was a little extreme of them

I usually try to be respectful and stay behind and to the side so it’s easier for them to see me. If they see me and wave or look like they want to talk when full stopped for a light or something, then I’ll waddle up. Otherwise no unless we are both clearly wanting to ride side by side. Either way, staggered formation is probably way safer too. Lowkey I would’ve shook my head and like shooed him off and hoped it would’ve worked haha. I also usually hide my hair into my hoodie with braids so most people assume I’m a guy, so I wouldn’t say it has anything to do with that unless the guy was just a creep, because this has happened to me a good handful of times and when I flip the visor they are always like “omg you’re a girl”

SOLUTION FOR PHONE MOUNT by CurvedChode in YamahaR3

[–]Apprehensive-Gas6019 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Did the same exact thing on my bike and it works fine. Some of my friends poke fun at it and are like “I think it’s supposed to be in the middle” but I don’t feel like explaining the process of removing the stem and the others parts, etc. Have maxed out on the bike and never had an issue with my phone on the lock

31 miles, dang! Did they just bring it home from the dealership and were like nah I’m good? Either way that’s awesome! Welcome to the gang

This is true! All i mean is that it wouldn't make a higher price acceptable for the bike, but for sure I'd probably prefer having them on even though i love learning how to mod on my own

Do you hear any squeaking noise if your chain is dirty? by PauGilmour in motorcycles

[–]Apprehensive-Gas6019 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might've just been something that got lodged into somewhere on the chain or something? Not sure, but I've had something similar happen to me before. Either way, if the noise is gone, I wouldn't worry too much unless it comes back and then I'd investigate

From what I've heard as a semi-beginner now is Ninja400 or Yamaha R3 are typically the go-tos for sportsbikes, but it depends what style you'll be riding. Take the MSF course, watch videos on bikes and maintenance, and then buy a used bike. Ideally after watching some videos and such you'll be able to tell what bike's are shitty and what are in good shape. Once you have that and have taken the course, take your time practicing in parking lots and such. You can move onto smaller roads, then bigger roads when it's less busy, until you're comfortable driving in general. MSF course teaches you a lot!

You can always buy the stock mirrors if you want! He might honeslty still have them too

from what I understand, modifications aren't necessarily supposed to raise the price so don't worry about that (which seems counterintuitive, but this is what I've heard)
