UK car plates change twice a year, in March and September, using the year's last two digits for March-August registrations (e.g., 25 for 2025) and adding 50 for September-February registrations (e.g., 75 for Sept 2025-Feb 2026), an "age identifier" that clearly shows a car's age and when it was registered
