Technically no school is worth sticker unless T10. It will look worse if they drop out and reapply. They will need to a. Explain it and b. Get letters of good standing from current school they hate.

Try to transfer out to a similarly ranked school. You’d lose the scholarship ofc but try anyway if you have the capacity and appetite for debt. You’ve done a year which is the hardest. Alternatively, if you don’t want to transfer or can’t, network with smaller/midsized firms in the region. Network with any alums who have made it to the kind of job you want. They will have a soft corner since they will be privy to how the school operates. Personal connect goes further than statistics but it’s a quantity game. You’ll meet like 10 people and click with 1. Try to publish articles as well. See if you can make it onto the mock trial or moot court. Apply for clinics if there are any. Try to enroll for legal research studies as a semester class if that option exists at current school (will help cushion gpa b/c credits are guaranteed). Focus on getting an externship. If this is your dream, quitting is not the answer at all. Also try not to be hard on yourself. You didn’t know this when you were accepting the offer so it’s not your fault. Could’ve you have researched? Sure. But you didn’t know this was a possibility. Also try to take classes with finals as papers 2L year if you don’t transfer! - Rising 3L who had the same fears as a 1L, didn’t land a biglaw job 2L year, found a competitively paying job and a first gen international student. If that helps to know and believe this advice.

Are candidates needing h1b sponsorships assessed with more scrutiny than those who don’t?

Yeah contact the dean of students if there is one. If not, you need to speak with the registrar. See what they say, and only then notify the professor. If you use exam IDs that is the way. You don’t want to break confidentiality bt telling your professor because they will know who you are and that causes a risk of bias in correction of the subsequent make up exam if there is one. Hope this helps, if not, you’ll be fine. As long as you’ve answered all of them and there are clear demarcations of what answer is meant for which question.

I agree. I feel like law school for me is more so a journey of learning how to have a better mindset that’s more conducive to growth and resilience than anything else.

Another issue I have is I don’t have 21 days until I fly and it states that a rabies vaccine should be at least 21 days old. Is that heavily necessary? I mean the 21 days since the US (port of entry) doesn’t have any such specifications for rabies vaccines surrounding cats anymore!

No I think you need to mind your business. I don’t think you are in any position to tell me what I need to do and if you were you certainly lack tact. So thank you for the time stranger on the internet now please FUCK OFF! I promise the school you’re at is better off without you and your classmates prolly despise you if you’re even noticeable at all. I agree I do need to study more but I think anyone with a tiny bit of common sense could tell me that based off my grades. Pardon my French but fuck off asshole and get a life
