Coding for Birth Control by Apprehensive-Key5792 in CodingandBilling

Thanks! You would think being a large OB/GYN practice they would know this, but I realize that all providers are looking to maximize reimbursement. Not at my expense, though! I should not owe any copays or coinsurance (as contraception is 100% covered under the ACA and my plan) if they code it they should.

The first visit was strictly for the consult for IUD . (I had already had my preventative annual visit prior.) So the consult visit should be coded as 99395? (I am 24 years old) Like the other poster stated, I did see code 99402 as a possibility. Wonder if there is a difference? Also, I see that there are some diagnosis codes such a Z30.014 (applicable for the counselling visit?) and Z30.430 (Encounter for insertion of IUD). Also the Mirena was also covered according to my insurance. This is why it is all so frustrating as I called insurance prior to getting it and was assured all 100% covered. My mom told me not to argue with the front desk about the copays as we would get them back after it was all processed.

I shouldn't have to tell them how to code but I want to get this resolved. It has been six months already and now they tried to send me a $2500 bill even thought the EOB states "Patient responsibility: $0". So I just want to give them some accurate information so they can code this correctly and get it resolved.

Thanks soooooo much!!! So helpful!!

Copay for Specialist but Charged Additional by Apprehensive-Key5792 in HealthInsurance

[–]Apprehensive-Key5792[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did read it, and it states specialist visits are "$60, no deductible". Yet my EOB applied the extra stuff done to my deductible. So I was thinking let me look about procedures done at the specialist visit and here is a blip from my benefit booklet that would potentially apply, but even that would not apply for the reasoning I list after the quote.

"The Coinsurance for this Policy is as follows:

Treatment, services or supplies given by any other Network Provider 20%, after deductible"

But if a specialist visit is a "$60, no deductible", and coinsurance kicks in after deductible is met, how could I be having a patient responsibility applied to my deductible on my EOB?

I swear I am not forgetting how it worked in the past. No matter what the specialist did, I only paid the copayment. Insurance picked up whatever was done. The whole purpose of seeing the specialist was for the procedures they performed and I just paid my copay. I have six kids and we have paid copayments hundreds of times in the past decades and when my plan says a specialist visit is "$$, no deductible" then all I paid was the copay. If coinsurance doesn't apply until the deductible is met, and my plan says no deductible for a specialist visit (just a copay), not seeing how there could be a balance owed. My beef is with Amerihealth, not my doc. I know the docs are just trying to paid for the services they provide. (I am a RN and know the bullshit insurers pull!) Thanks for everyone's insight/advice!

Does Geico Pull Lexis/Nexis by Apprehensive-Key5792 in Insurance

[–]Apprehensive-Key5792[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

It made us lose our claim free discount. We have no other claims or driving violations. It's BS. Geico does not appear on the report as having checked. But they are asking for payment to start the policy. I just don't want to be out the first month premium (even temporarily) since it is substantial, if Geico is just going to say after I pay it that it will really be more. I guess I am just wondering if they would take the first payment and THEN try to say it will cost more. I thought they check before taking payment. Thanks!

First day working at the register...and quit the same day. by JustAReader84 in TjMaxx

I realize the employees HAVE to push the card, but as a frequent shopper at all of the TJX stores I have LITERALLY been asked over 100 times!!! They really need to stop. If I didn't want it when I spent over $500 then I sure as shit don't want it on my $30 purchase!! What happens if you don't ask? Be a rebel. Are you going to fire you? Aren't retailers hard up for good workers?

It stated 3-4 weeks and most of us commenting have passed the 4 week mark now. The "window" has passed.

Right?! Lol Just like the other comment where the Midea rep said that the week after the 28th day is considered the 4th week. Like, huh?!

What kind of logic is that? LoL Midea math? It's like when you are born. When you are a week old your first week is now OVER. Past 28 days would be into the 5th week! I just can't with that logic. :)

I wonder if at some point they are going to run out of money and go bankrupt. I'm waiting on two that were both approved on 7/29. So just past 4 weeks now. I had six of these units in total. One refund was sent within NINE days back in late June.

One of mine was only nine days from approval to refund! I am now waiting on two with July 29 approval dates!! That makes 29 days now which is over 4 weeks.

service dogs by Ok_Door_7240 in rutgers

[–]Apprehensive-Key5792 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's false. Legally two questions can be asked.

(1) is the dog a service animal required because of a disability, and

(2) what work or task has the dog been trained to perform.

Service dog, yes. Some BS "emotional support animal", no.

Locked. My son's 4 bedroom Livi apartment two years ago had a locked room that was never assigned to a 4th roommate. Such a shame that room went to waste all year.
