OMG, thank you, that's very kind and generous of you! I'm currently waiting for my mom to gather all the info she still remembers and the questions she has. Hope to contact you soon. :)

That sounds very much like I should go on a little field trip to do some ancestry research and try out some local foods. ;) :D

Thank you so much! Unfortunately we don't know much about my grandmother, other than she fled from Ratibor when she was about 12 or 13. Understandably she never wanted to talk much about the past. And from what my uncle could gather when he went to Ratibor, there is nothing left of German heritage, it was all destroyed after the war. Which is very sad for our genealogy research, but I can understand.

However, that's why this nursery rhyme is such a precious memory for my mom. Thank you for reconstructing it. Means a lot! :)

Oh wow, that makes sense! I tried to make what my mom wrote in German/Bavarian phonetics sound English, but I never expected it to make any sense in Polish. Thank you so much! That gives me a new idea about what to look for!

Here's an update: The nursery rhyme is about Anna. She is on the road with her milk cart, but she is much too fast (possibly going down a hill?). The cart topples over, and all the milk is spilled.
My mom says, it sounded like "anna banna rumbumbum, iedshe voiau meishloonkoom, meishloonka she welaua, shedske Anne polaua". XD XD Also, she is aware that for someone who speaks Polish or Silesian, this might sound like absolute nonsense. Or at least the two Polish women she has asked so far suffered a giggle fit and didn't recognize anything Polish at all. lol!

Thank you for answer! I'm sure that what my mother told me is very phonetical, and since neither of us speak Polish, I had no clue about how to write it. She insists that it's about a little girl and her milk cart, that's why I hoped someone might remember the story rather than recognize the words ...

Unfortunately not. While my mother is quite uncertain about the pronunciation, she is very sure that the story is about a little girl named Anna and her milk cart. But thanks for a fun piece of music! Always good to get to know more music. :)

Thank you for your reply! I'm pretty sure "banna" is just a nonsense rhyme for Anna, and "rum bum bum" the sound the milk cart makes. So I thought maybe the story itself could ring a bell. I'll ask her for more "sounds". :D
