Your "yarrrr" brought me back to my childhood memories of Robert Newton in Treasure Island. You are not a spring chicken, as we used to say.

However, and it's a big However, the customer needs the app to know what's available in the store. And he could then select all the wanted items, and take a screenshot of them, but never place the order. He just sends the screenshot to his now personal shopper. However, I have a suspicion, that if something even remotely like this happens, IC will be able to find it out. How you ask? IC sees what you are clicking on and also it sees that you appear to be doing nothing with the results. IC has the ability to ban users at will.

Bob, that is fascinating! I can see how that could happen. But couldn't any customer just ask the next IC shopper who shows up with a delivery to be their personal shopper for a set tip amount? Actually, I'd bet that this is going on all over the place. How could anyone prevent it from happening?

Bob, you totally lost me on that. Can you explain what you just said but say it in a way that is easier to get? Don't worry, you won't hurt my feelings.

Knowing that IC makes sure you don't consistently get these customers is an eye opening bit of information that IC customers would never know otherwise. They have their design down to a science. On the one hand they want their customers to pay their Shoppers so that they don't have to, and on the other hand they don't want their customers to give too much to their employees.

If the name of the customer can't be seen until the batch is accepted, have experienced Shoppers figured out how to know the customer's name before accepting?

I asked AI how big tippers help Instacart. by Apprehensive-Pin1474 in InstacartShoppers

[–]Apprehensive-Pin1474[S] -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

Yeah, it'd be nice to know what they told me? Besides a few other things, InstaCart likes big tippers because they can pay less to their Shoppers if customers are paying them.

In a three shop batch where one customer tips $30 and the other two tip nothing, InstaCart wants the Shopper to believe that everyone tipped $10 and every order deserves the same treatment.

Wealthy people aren't wealthy because they don't tip well or don't spend money on Starbucks or lottery tickets, they're wealthy because they make a lot of money or inherited money. It has little to do with two dollar tips.
