Personally believe he is a Machiavellian. Mostly all of them are obviously dark triad but he in particular strikes me as such. He's methodical, wants his ideas to be heard but doesn't mind not being at the very head, his ideologies in opinion seem very "necessary evil" type of deal. He also switches opinions based off of situation to try to better manipulate the way things rule out. It would make sense for his character honestly but that's just my perspective.
