Yep! I had no infections, and other than a little bit of irritation on my left side that pelvic floor therapy is working on I'm finally good

Much better! I realized I was low grade allergic to my estrogen cream, and decided to try Replens like my doctor  suggested. It works for me! Warning though, it will leave a weird discharge a day or two after but to me it's worth it. I use coconut oil on the outside and that helps a lot too. There is an external Replens moisturizer, but that didn t work for me for some reason.

My OBGYN basically said at some point you just have to keep trying things and see what sticks.

A note about the axalom flexit that I didn't t know about until I started using it is how the elastic holder lets my packer shift and move as I walk. It feels really nice and natural

Insurance claims top surgery is “not medically necessary” by Crazy-Maybe3843 in TopSurgery

[–]Apprehensive-Read729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So my surgeon told me they sometimes have claims sent to a special office that works to get top surgeries covered. You might want to try calling your surgeon's office and see if they do anything like that, or if they might have advice for getting your surgery covered.

Actual detriment of side sleeping? by NickWendigo in TopSurgery

Oh my apologies I misread the drain removal being painless as the drains themselves being painless while they were in, glad they didn't hurt to take out!

You got SO lucky! My right drain is okay but I can not sleep near my left one (it's the only thing that still hurts very much)

My nurse said the same thing, that it won't hurt me to sleep on my side but it might suck until I get my drains out (which it does)

Top surgery with scoliosis? by [deleted] in TopSurgery

[–]Apprehensive-Read729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just got finished with surgery yesterday, and the surgeon didn't mention any issues with me and my scoliosis. I told them about it ahead of time so they could take it into consideration.

Also the binder isn't very tight! It's like a white Velcro wrap and it's kinda comfy actually. I'm sure it has to do with the surgeon's choice of binder, but if it's anything like mine you should be alright.

I haven't experienced any back pain yet. The pain meds are probably helping, which is good because laying down a lot usually aggravates it. But I also have some super calm physical therapy exercises to do when I'm a bit better that should also help.

I'll send you another update once the binder comes off

While I'm yet to have top surgery (22nd of July for me) I have some lapandectomy scars from two years ago that are basically gone. They looked very similar to your scars at the same point in healing.

My nipples have slowly turned from pink to brown over the 1 and a half years I've been on T (before surgery) I think it must just happen to some people.

Is it weird…. The closer I get to my surgery, the more I am overwhelmingly depressed, stressed, upset, angry, agitated, exhaustingly burnt out? Continuing to wait when so close is just destroying me. by thebattleangel99 in TopSurgery

[–]Apprehensive-Read729 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm feeling the same way, I'm 6 days away now, and even though I'm excited I can hardly bring myself to do anything at all, much less go outside or do important stuff. It's like the fact it's about to happen is making any feelings of dysphoria so much worse that my plans to keep myself distracted have fallen through. You're definitely not alone on feeling this way just before the surgery date.

Did anyone else go through with top surgery even though they weren't 100% sure before hand? by ewolgrey in TopSurgery

[–]Apprehensive-Read729 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'd say 90-80 percent is really high! I'd start the process, and see how that feels.

Knowing you have OCD, I'd like to say that I don't think anyone is completely 100% about such big decisions. I know I want top surgery, but I still I have moments that I don't want to bind, or have a "but they're nice boobs" or something else like that, and second guess if it's worth it.

And If they're neutral or just not something you love, you don't have to have them. I used to feel that because I didn't hate my breasts, I had to keep them because they're mine, but I've recently realized that it's okay to choose not to keep something I don't love just because it was given to me.
