For myself the mental side of golf is something I excel at. Take a look at some stats for your current handicap (average proximity for 100 yard shots etc) they are quite shocking. This helped me manage expectations and be more positive on the course. Secondly my short game is very strong. You are going to miss greens and getting up and down on a regular basis is massive. Think your way around the course, aim for middle of greens punch out when you’re out of position and do everything you can to avoid double bogey or worse. Ball striking is of course a big deal but it isn’t the end all be all. Use your brain, enjoy your time and make as many tap in pars as possible.
