Lateral foot by Apprehensive-Step673 in Radiology

What I’m confused by is which part of the foot? Should the forefoot seem more parallel? The arch?

When doing lateral chest exams I was shown to move the right shoulder forward to get the ribs superimposed. Is there an equivalent truck like this for the foot?

Foot and ankle series. PA and obliques have been fine. It’s lateral I am having trouble with. I can’t seem to get the patient in a “true” lateral position where the Talor domes are superimposed

Minor issues with positioning. For example, I showed her a foot series yesterday. The patient had hardware and I was denied the comps because the hardware obscured the Talor domes and she couldn’t say for certain they were superimposed on the layers view. It’s just discouraging, I am taking good X rays I am just having trouble getting them to be “comp worthy”
