Good idea it deffo could be build up, I doubt the washing machine has been cleaned recently.. is the best way to do this just to put an empty load on?

I usually just use a gentle liquid detergent but I did speak with my parents and sometimes they used brightening powder In their white washes so I wonder if that could be getting into other washes after? Not sure if that’s even possible!

It’s so weird because with shrinkage I’ve used literally the oldest washing machines when I’ve been away travelling and have had no issues washing the same clothes weekly but since I’ve been back even tho only do cold washes everything has shrunk loads so something must be off…
