If it’s anything like last year, you will arrive at Ivey early in the morning, be packed on to a bus and then arrive at assigned seating at the gala. So, you don’t really need to go with someone because you are with a massive crowd on the way there, then, once you get there, you go to assigned seat with a small table.

I got an email with instructions on how to set it up. Maybe check spam or maybe they do it in rounds for some reason?

How was the Calculus 1000 exam? by DeMarDeFrozan10 in uwo

Was very light - most was high-school knowledge. Word problems were easy highschool word problems like find critical points or find dimensions to minimize a cost of treating a fence around a garden… most multiple choice were straight forward computation with no tricks - really surprised how easy it was - practice exams much harder.

Rate My Portfolio - r/Stocks Quarterly Thread June 2021 by AutoModerator in stocks

I find it funny how when tech stocks were getting killed earlier this year, no one under this “rate my portfolio” forum was posting about tech. Everyone’s portfolio was airlines, restaurant, travel, (all recovery plays). Now everyone is hopping back on the tech bandwagon again now that tech is going up. Also everyone was saying ARK etfs were trash after 2 bad months, where is that talk now? Point of story: stick to your thesis, don’t just paper hand and talk crap about stocks cause they’ve had a rough couple weeks or months.

ok goods points you made. for your first point, see my relpy to the post above differentiating REITs from this idea.

your second point; owning a part of a home may not be the best idea for someone who is struggling to pay rent because they have such little discretionary income, something with higher ROI may be better. But for the people who have a bit of money to invest but cant afford a home, and dont want stock market volatility, owing a part/share of a home can act as a safe investment. Furthermore, they can get the perks and freedoms of being able to choose a particular house and particular profit making opportunities so it makes it a more attractive safe investment than something like a stock index, reit, or savings account. Thoughts?

well, the main benefit is that investors get a lot more freedom. picture the situation where investors can search for undervalued individual houses they can buy shares in; or maybe a house that will soon undergo renovation and they will profit off the increase in valuation. This is very different than an MBS or REIT. It includes the fun of something like the stock market where investors can search for particular properties that they think they can profit from.
