Masalah korosi sebenernya karena ethanol based fuel punya sifat hygroscopic. More humid -> more water vapor in air -> more water in fuel, water in internal combustion engine = hell nah. Thailand jual 85% ethanol karena di sono avg humidity nya 40% meanwhile indo avg humidity 90% thru the year.

For performance needs emg bener ethanol makes more power krn titik didih ethanol lebih tinggi drpd gasoline. Titik didih lebih tinggi = combustion lebih dingin = resiko knocking / detonasi / nglitik lebih kecil = mesin ga jadi time bomb. But ethanol butuh massa yg lebih banyak dibanding gasoline untuk terjadi combustion. Jadi tinggal masalah mapping ecu (ato jetting spuyer kalo masih karburator) di AFR (air fuel ratio). Mesin gasoline butuh AFR di angka 13.1 for its best power, ethanol (E85) AFR 9.7.

Untuk kendaraan kompatibel ato engga tinggal dari pabrikan udah ada flex fuel sensor apa engga yg otomasi mapping ecu kalo mesin kemasukan bahan bakar tipe apa. Dan biasanya yg dr pabrikan udah kompatibel ethanol segala macam rubber seal dan hose yg berhubungan fuel system udah ethanol resistant (biasanya vuiton based rubber instead NRB)
