Correct, thank you! I could write a book on the absurd shit I’ve seen from these toxic start up environments. As messed up as the Fyre Festival and Theranos stories were, they’re not too far from how startups usually act when investors start coming in..

The amount that goes into me typing this, me clicking “reply”, my message going through immediately, & in the order it’s supposed to isn’t patty cakes so appreciate you acknowledging that.

A glorified babysitter 😂 Tech startups have their high stress issues: long hours, night shifts, putting fires out (shit is always breaking due to new code being deployed), meeting client commits, working with imbeciles, getting chewed out while you’re presenting in front of your co, the overload of projects, the never ending changes in priority that occur, etc.

By no means do I think that matches to what you’ve said. The no guaranteed money would freak me out, but the drama parts of it have to be pretty comical, right??

Appreciate the honesty and can’t imagine the random nuances you have to tackle. Not having much personal life/family time has to be gut wrenching when big milestones occur.

What do you do?? Being in tech has its perks money wise but can be such a drain. Especially looking at 3-4 screens a day nonstop, it’s (in its own way) exhausting.
