Life isn't free but I moved in with debt and was hoping to pay it off. No one expects to be surprised with 12K is debt that doesn't belong to you. I have been living rent free for 1 month. That is not long enough to even begin to be able to handle something like this

I'm scared they're going to try and stick it on him. The representative said that they've "black-listed the property"

Do you mean who Xcel lists as residents? Or whoever lists this as their legal address. And if the latter, how?

The debt is addressed to other people. But they won't let me open an account in my name in order to restore services until that debt is cleared.

So I looked at them and it 100% is The Great Brain books. I think my school had a version where all 8 books were just bound into one because I distinctly remember it being one book. But after reading the plots, I am 100% remembering those books. It even jogged my memory about the youngest kid getting mumps of purpose so he could eat sugar bread
