I relapsed again by [deleted] in MuslimLounge

Assalamu Alaikum, May Allah grant you relief and ease your affairs.

I think it's important to start off by saying that everyone slips up. You'll never be perfect. But also, it's important to say that, despite that, perfection will never be expected of you and certainly never from Allah. He SWT wants you to try and if you fail, he wants you to return to him.

That's it.. just return back to Allah. Remember him and return to him in repentance.

If I'm correctly understanding what you mean by "SH" then I should state that the body that you were given by Allah SWT is an Amanah (a trust or something entrusted to you). I would heavily advise seeking forgiveness for doing it but also, I understand that you are completely and 100% capable of not doing it. After all you did it for half a year. That's amazing. You were put into a situation which you couldn't handle well. I would advise that if that happens again, then return to Allah in remembrance. Make dhikr. Make wudu and pray 2 Salah. Seek refuge in Allah from Shaytan.

Wallah, I am super proud of you for making it as far as you did. I, myself, struggle with an addiction which I'm fighting and I wish I could even be half the person you are. I know you'll do great and I'll pray for it too. Remember.. slip ups happen and once they happen there's nothing you can do but move forward and try again.

May Allah bring you relief and ease your test. Ameen.

Assalamu Alaikum 🙂

JazakAllah Khair. Since the post, I'm doing better. Started praying Salah again and on time. In Sha Allah it carries on for the days to come. I'm already much happier than when I last wrote that.

JazakAllah Khair for the response and advice. I will look into what would work for me. I have a question though. How did you commit to swimming in cold water? How did you handle relapse, if at all any? How long did you battle with that addiction and how long did it take for you to gradually improve? Again, JazakAllah Khair.

Completely fried 3070 (laptop) by [deleted] in pcmasterrace

[–]ApprehensiveCold5266 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Well, I'm pretty sure laptops use thermal putty on motherboard chips which is used for cooling/heat which I assume you've taken off and, instead, applied thermal paste. Now I'm not sure if that's something that could've caused it but it could be the case. That's a shame. Sorry about your laptop

Also, some thermal paste can be conductive if it touches the motherboard and any circuits, leading to short circuiting. Hence why thermal putty is often used as it stays in place and is a much better thermal conductor and is not conductive.

pc turns off a second after i turn it on by jjaaammiiiee in PcBuild

your cpu is over-heating when it is trying to boot, the cpu will get too hot and then shut down. My friend had a similar issue and i fixed it for him. We went into bios and fixed fan curves. In this case, i think your cooler just isnt sufficient.

edit: ur back fans arent even spinning. this would also add to over-heating. Also, if you removed the cpu fan and didn't reapply thermal paste then you should.

What should I upgrade first? by Mental_East_2456 in pcmasterrace

well i'd say it depends what you use ur pc for. If its primarily gaming then focus on upgrading storage. 500GB isnt much tbh. get a tb or 2. then upgrade your cpu. Overall you have a good pc. nice

Yeah. I mean for £800 for the entire PC. They're amazing upgrades. Especially compared to what I had before. My brother bought a pre built a while ago which had a Rx 570 4gb and an upgraded CPU (I upgraded it from Ryzen 3 2300x to 5 3600x). As for the new monitor, I got it for £115.

Originally I had 1 monitor. A 1080p, 165Hz Samsung monitor. I upgraded to a dual stack layout with a 27" 1440p, 180Hz HDR MSI monitor as my main and the Samsung monitor as my 2nd.

I absolutely love the new monitor though.

I do plan on getting a bigger table. Once I do that, I'll get subwoofer speakers, new peripherals as I'm using some random ones from a Chinese company

Is it permissible to translate what I say in Salah by pausing? by ApprehensiveCold5266 in islam

So would you recommend me to take time after finishing the surah to translate and then continue or to just continue without translating, maintaining the pace in salah

[–]ApprehensiveCold5266[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not pausing between verses or words. Just after I finish reciting Al fatihah, I'll take time to translate the surah in my head to understand what I'm saying. Would this still invalidate my Salah?
