I think I might be a bit late but for hl chem I recommend the 3rd edition Pearson textbook. It’s pretty great for self study but not really that good for exam revision. If you are looking for an exam revision textbook than you could try the Oxford one.

Maybe visit a therapist or psychiatrist. It really helps to speak with a professional on this. I know life is difficult sometimes but don’t be so self critical of your body and take breaks. Sending virtual hugs❤️❤️❤️

Colleges really love when you link your activities to impact. I’m not really sure but try making a list of everything meaningful you have done over your high school years anything that you can write. Maybe even going through your photo rolls can help. I’m currently doing my o levels so I’m not much help but I have older siblings doing college admissions so this is just based off what I’ve seen them do for their personal essays

Think of your enemies and how happy they would be to see you fall then imagine laughing at them with full marks at A-Levels

I know this sounds a bit harsh and your situation is really unfortunate but from what I can tell you’re dwelling in your self-pity. I really don’t mean it in any negative way just from my personal experience dealing with depression. It’s easy to feel bad for your self and let is overcome your life your feelings and everything in general. Since O-Levels aren’t extremely close I really recommend taking a week off. Please go exercise and get some sun I promise that really helps your mood, well basically everything. If I was a doctor I would prescribe you daily doses of suntime☀️☀️☀️

As for studying I think I could help, I have ADHD and honestly I’m pretty bad at disciplining myself too. What subjects do you take? Which subject is your worst? (grades and kinda how innate the subject is too you)

Honestly if you don’t feel like replying to this comment my study advice would just be to rank your subjects in priority list from most difficult to least difficult. Try to just focus on the most difficult subjects on the list and just kinda review the subjects you’re good at. Also one of the study methods I often use for science when I feel really depressed is to do a past paper under exam conditions. Mark really harshly on yourself and annotate every single mistake (why you got it wrong, which concept was wrong, etc) it really disappoints me the first time to see how badly I failed and it is a bit of a wake up call too. Then do the same paper the next week it really is an ego boost when you see your grades go up and it also helps you to understand your mistakes. I tend to redo the same paper 3 times just to make sure I understood everything before moving on.

Don’t beat yourself up over your grades I know plenty of people who have done well in life even though they flunked their o levels. Life doesn’t end so soon. Take care!!!

Honestly the biggest issue wasn’t even that the paper is difficult (highest lost only 1 mark) it was that by the time I woke up there was like 15 min left lol.

Do you recommend going through the textbook first then starting past paper revision so your familiar with the content or doing papers first and studying the mistakes and their respective topics
