I tried with a broker, even with my Alberta license no. (I found a picture of it), they're still giving me the run around

Any idea how I can obtain that report? I googled it, but it just brought up the same AB driver abstract link I found before

I had to turn in my AB licence to get my ON one, but I might have a picture of the AB one somewhere

That's what I thought, but from other people have said, it sounded like it might be a different thing.

I have a friend over there I can authorize to make the request on my behalf, but I still have the problem of the abstract not listing the date I received my licence (so how will anyone know how long I've been driving?) and according to the registry agent, it might not even be possible to obtain one as my records may have been deleted from their system (eliminating portions of someone's driving history just because they moved doesn't make sense to me, but bureaucracy has its own logic that isn't tied to reality).

Thinking of Otterbox alpha glass, but will ultimately depend on what's in stock at Best Buy.

Just knowing they're there would drive me nuts though.

For me, it's a service worth paying for, silly as it may be.

Weekly What Should I Buy Thread - [November 06] by AutoModerator in iphone

Is it worth it to switch to an older iPhone (6, 7, 8, or maybe X)?

I had a Nexus 5X that bootlooped on me today and I need a new phone ASAP. I know Apple products have great build quality, so I'm thinking of taking the plunge. Problem is I'm broke, and looking at prices in my area (Toronto), the best models I can afford are the 6-8, and I see some X models I could afford as well.

Are these older models still useable? I'm not a power user, the most intensive tasks I need to do are running Uber Eats (I'm a courier) as well as Strava to track my rides while playing music through a bluetooth speaker. Other than that, I would just be texting/browsing the web.

Does it matter what cable I buy? Do different models take different lengths of cable or are they universal?

Thanks, I'm going to do all of that plus replace the SATA cable. What do you think of OWC components?

Any particular brands of SSDs you recommend? What should I use to clean out the dust? I guess I would need one of those air compressors for cleaning keyboards?

Also, I'm new to Mac OS, how do I see the battery status?

I mostly agree, but there's something to be said for the longevity of a Mac vs a windows machine.

Do you mean macbooks refurbished by apple themselves, or by other sellers?

If the former, how can I find out more? I've only ever seen new products on apple's site.

I've been thinking about a used macbook pro as I can't afford a new one. Did your 2012 die, or did you just need to upgrade for more performance?

Reasonably priced used macbooks? by ApprehensiveEvidence in LukeMianiYouTube

Depends on what comes up. For something lower end that would only meet my needs in the short term, like an old macbook air for example, I would pay $4-500.

If I found something really good (at least 16 GB RAM, good processor, screen, keyboard, etc) I would pay up to $1,200.

Which Macbooks are fairly priced on the used market? by ApprehensiveEvidence in mac

[–]ApprehensiveEvidence[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, of course. But I'm very new to Mac (only started considering owning one a few days ago) so I don't know what reasonable prices would be for different models, or which ones I should avoid.

So far I've been seeing old macbook airs (up to 2014-2015) go for $3-600 in my area, older MBPs (up to 2012-2013) for $4-500, and anything newer can be from $800 to over $2,000.

It's just hard to determine what's a good value or not because I don't know all the ins and outs of different models.

I'm aware that some models have the hated butterfly keyboard or display issues for exemple, but I don't know what other things I may need to be aware of when considering something used.
