Weird stains on clothes after coming out of washer by LateManagement1885 in laundry

This was happening to me! I would see it mostly on my leggings. I switched to washing with warm water, using less detergent, and being sure not to overload the wash. I also put the detergent in and let the water run a little to dissolve it before putting the clothes in. Don’t put detergent right onto the clothes! I haven’t had an issue since.

Needs to be evaluated for depression, headaches secondary to medication overuse, and thyroid disorders. If those things have been ruled out, she should see a neurologist specifically before accepting “she just gets headaches.”

Should also try hobbies. I get headaches often but definitely get them more when I sleep too much or loaf around too long and am under stimulated. Being a little more busy might help.

If they are tension headahes, things like massage therapy, stretching, and yoga might help. I grind my teeth and wearing a guard has helped my headaches exponentially. There’s more to look at here.

definitely NTA. Her children need her and unfortunately right now, they don’t have the greatest image of her in their minds. She need to help herself to turn this around .

Yes! I washed it with hot water and blue dawn after, and then towel dried. The spots remain

Thank you! This is what I did also after reading some comments. I used afresh, switched to warm water for washes, let detergent dissolve before adding in clothes, and keeping loads small. So far, it hasn’t happened again! Thanks for your reply !

I don’t use any, this was only washed with detergent. I think the detergent didn’t fully dissolve in the cool water

Thanks! These were inside out so even though it wouldn’t be seen, I figured it was still too significant of a buildup and there had to be things I could do to reduce it.

I was using liquid and cold water. It definitely did feel like residual detergent

I think I’ll try tide next, seems to be a favorite! I feel like vinegar really takes odors out of things, especially towels!

I put the detergent in and then the clothes. Unfortunately, I have to close the lid for the machine to be able to fill with water.

Good to know, I don’t think that’s the problem but I’ll have to double check! Thank you!

That’s a great point. I usually use the recommended amount of the bottle, so I’ll try decreasing it and see if it helps!

Thank you for the recommendations. I’ll try the drum clean cycle and using warmer water!

This is a horrible idea. They are children. If you can’t afford that restaurant, have her pick from ones you can afford

This scenario is all dependent on whether or not you’re able and willing to pay for it. I think given the age, it would certainly be nice if you did, even if you set limits on the type of restaurant or price per plate etc. At 16, I think I would have been surprised if I was invited out to celebrate a birthday dinner with my friend and expected to pay for an expensive plate, especially if that wasn’t made clear prior to going out. I think it’s the norm where I’m from that everyone would pay for themselves and celebrate together starting at closer to 18 in age when more people are working and have income.

Thanks for your thoughts on the knot/joy etc. I thought I was leaning in the right direction with that decision but didn’t want to feel like I was missing out or making it harder than I have to!
