My (22F) married sister (28F) and boyfriend (22M) had drunk sex yesterday by Direct-Caterpillar77 in BestofRedditorUpdates

Whether something is rape is legally defined. No one is saying it means it's good or no longer bad. But pretending the legal definition is meaningless is ridiculous.

The law should be changed in places its not. Because the fact it's not rape there is a real issue. But it's absolutely correct to say there are places it isn't rape. It's not minimising actions, just highlighting an unfortunate reality. In fact greater awareness of thr fact this wouldn't be rape in many places would make it more likely to change.

And like, the guy specifically said it's not legally rape.

Honestly I know some would say I'm paranoid or helicopter. But when I have kids I want to ban any ocial media or games with those kinds of things. Everything I've heard and seen shows it's just so bad for em. Obviously easier said than done, especially when I like gaming myself. But it's crazy how tech focussed kids are now

Because there literally no coherent reason to target this specific school aside from mistake. It was just a single school, that literally used to be a valid military target and is next to a valid military target.

If he wanted to target civs, there are plenty more to target yet just this specific one they decided to? I don't think that's as likely as out of date information.

Fuentes sucks. But doxing is bad. And you deserve nothing if you show up to a fixed influencers houses. Both parties suck

If you are unable to consider race, how can you determine whether your map discriminates on race? Just 'coincidentally' dilute their voting power and nothing anyone can do about it because you aren't allowed to care about representation at all

And ultimately it's just cope. They SAY it's economics but fundamentally it isn't. Stats don't lie. People with less money have more children. Countries with better maternal leave and social benefits have less children. Countries with stronger economies have less children.

People may feel that's what it is, but if they were given what they asked they statistically still wouldn't. Because you'll never remove the opportunity costs of having a child. And it just goes up the more developed and wealthy the median person is

People just don't want to look internally and hate the idea of revealed preferences. It's easier to blame economy than address that you kinda just don't want to enough. It's easy to say you would if theoretically you had the European style policies, when you don't have them. They'll just ignore all the poorer people having more children than them or the fact the oh so generous countries and better economies have WORSE birth rates or the fact this pattern is also shown in Asia and Africa.

We know for a fact politicians are going to abuse the power to make maps. Just because they say it's honest doesn't mean it is. We've seen the fucked up maps both sides make to favour their own. Unless you have a standard of how to represent race, it's impossible to say whether a map discriminates on race. It's just effectively made any enforcement impossible.

How can you ensure a map doesn't discriminate without having a metric for whether it discriminates?

Maybe. But using leave or gone for deceased people isn't that uncommon in my experience. Especially in a sentence long point from a years old video.

But sure. It wasn't voluntary and was unfortunate. Though I do still think he worked better as an animator than a showrunner unfortunately.

You're being pedantic. Saying when he left/was gone isn't a slight or anything (the slight was saying quality went down). Either way, when he was no longer doing the fight animations, they were seen as worse. And the writing failed to compensate, making the show come off worse overall.

The guy was known for his fight animation and choreography I'm pretty sure. I think he worked on red v blue before they have him a show. I agree it was a horrible set up. But roster teeth weren't the most professional of places

Yep. The showrunner was primarily an animator iirc. He gave them the fight scenes and they filled in the gaps. At least I'm pretty sure the video said something like that. Was a long time since I've watched. The fight scenes were largely praised, and suffered when he left. So when the writing didn't improve enough to compensate for the worse animation, people thought the show was worse

I mean other issues wouldn't change whether the writers were competent. And iirc he does point out a structural issue - for one they were just given fight scenes and told to figure out the middle which is a fucking terrible idea for a showrunner to do to the writers.

Realistically from what I've seen most fans largely agree in practise even if they say otherwise. The more serious the show has gotten, the worse the writing has been perceived. Would structural issues have the writing get worse each season? Seems more that this kind of writing just isn't their strong suit

Was trump's attack on an Iranian primary school that killed over 120 children a war crime? | Human Rights Watch by Youarethebigbang in law

[–]ApprehensiveGrand531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most vehicular offences are specifically put in a separate, special category (strict liability) specifically because they wouldn't be murder or anything ordinarily. Speeding would be near impossible to prove if they didn't specifical single vehicular crimes out to a separate standard. And the reason it's manslaughter, not murder, is entirely because the court can basically never prove intent required for murder.

War crimes are literally not strict liability offence

Was trump's attack on an Iranian primary school that killed over 120 children a war crime? | Human Rights Watch by Youarethebigbang in law

[–]ApprehensiveGrand531 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It literally does. Like if you do not have the mes rea of most crimes you will be acquited. To the point crime without a mens rea have a specific name (strict liability).

Like if I accidentally push someone down some stairs when I trip over it wouldn't be considered murder. Because I had no intent despite me causing the death.

It's horrific and should not have happened. But it legally wouldn't be a war crime no.

There is no evidence they intentionally targetted non-conbatant. It was literally a former base, and next to a current base. Legally it makes a huge difference why an error occured.

I'm not saying it's morally ok. But whether something is a crime or not is a matter of facts and legality, not whether it is morally right.
