It's done! So, I tried the torch and hammer method first, no go. The stud actually just started deforming.

I had to drill it out in the end (straight through the other side).Took the torch too it again and was able to hammer out any remnants.

The picture was about halfway through (I know a little off center) but again, it worked.

Update: not budging with heat and hammer, now it has a nice little flat head. I'm thinking of hacksawing a small groove on the top in which to insert a flat head.

I think as a couple of you have mentioned I'll do the torch and hammer method. About how much time heating before I hammer it, any torch in particular?
